Anju is the Founder of MEA Consulting Group, a thought leading diversity and inclusion consultancy, focusing on cultural and behavioural change. Anju has cultivated innovative and thought provoking training and advisory for some of the world's leading and aspirational organisations. Prior to founding MEA, Anju had a successful career in Investment Banking for 12 years, working at Citigroup, Barclays and Lloyds building a commendable track record on the trading floor, and creating a network of international clients. Having experienced invisible barriers underrepresented groups face first hand, she became super passionate about driving change. Anju is also Business Mentor for the Cherie Blair Foundation for Women. She was showcased as an inspiring woman for International Women's Day 2020 at United World College South East Asia, nominated for Asian Woman of Achievement awards 2021 and is featured in Forbes, BBC, Good Morning Britain and The Guardian. Bernhard Spanlang - CTO, Founder

Bernhard Spanlang, holds a Diplom Ingenieur degree (MSc) from Johannes Kepler University, Austria in Computer Science and an Engineering Doctorate degree from University College London in Computer Vision, Imaging and Virtual Environments. His research interest is in body perception, neuroscience and psychology using immersive virtual reality and the associated applications in training and rehabilitation. Bernhard has published c.60 papers in journals like Frontiers, Scientific Reports and SIGGRAPH. Prior to his role as Chief Technology Officer at Virtual Bodyworks, he was working in research at the University of Barcelona, designing experiments to evaluate the effects of virtual embodiment on the mind.

Charlie Pearmund - CEO

Charlie has 10 years' experience in startups and Technology M&A, during which time he helped raised more than 1bn in funding in UK Capital Markets. He implemented world's first stroke rehabilitation system based on embodiment in Virtual Reality in a clinical setting and has since implemented projects related to Diversity and Inclusion at Google Jigsaw and the World Bank. Mavi Sanchez Vives - Founder

Mavi holds a MD and a PhD in neurosciences and, since 2008, has been an ICREA Research professor at IDIBAPS where she heads the Systems Neuroscience group. Her independent research has been supported by national and international agencies. She has been funded by the Human Frontier Science Program and has been the coordinator in ten European Projects. In addition to her role as Chief Medical Officer at Virtual Bodyworks, she is also a Professor in the Department of Basic Psychology and Co-director of the Event Lab at the University of Barcelona and editor-in-chief of the journal Frontiers in Systems Neuroscience. She is a pioneer in exploring body ownership illusions in the context of neuroscience. Mavi has published c.173 papers in journals like Scientific Reports, Nature and PLos one and has been cited c.9,000 times.

Mel Slater - Founder

Mel started a VR research group at what is now Queen Mary, the University of London in 1991, and joined the Department of Computer Science at UCL in 1996 where he founded the Virtual Environments and Computer Graphics group. He received the IEEE Virtual Reality Career Award in 2005: In Recognition of Pioneering Achievements in Theory and Applications of Virtual Reality. Mel has individually received c. 11 Million in funding from European-based grants, including two European Research Council Advanced Grants, the most recent started in 2018. Alongside his role as Chief Scientific Officer at Virtual Bodyworks, Mel is the Director of Event Lab (Experimental Virtual Environments for Neuroscience and Technology) located at the University of Barcelona in the Department of Clinical Psychology and Psychobiology. In addition, he is currently an Immersive Fellow with London's Digital Catapult. Mel has published c.260 papers in journals like Frontiers, IEEE, Nature and Lancet and has been cited c.25,000 times.
