Our agency is one of nine Area Education Agencies in Iowa created in 1974 by the Iowa legislature to ensure equal educational opportunities for all children from birth through age 21. Support to local schools is provided in three, tightly integrated areas: Educational Services, Information & Technology and Special Education... Central Rivers AEA provides many programs and services for children, families, schools, and communities, all of which fall under nine state-required standards for service. All of Iowa's AEAs adhere to these standards for service and are evaluated to ensure quality by the Iowa Department of Education on a regular cycle...
