Chief Credit Officer of Initiative Ireland, Padraig M. Rushe brings over forty years of Corporate Banking and lending experience to the company. A respected figure within the International Finance Community, Rushe is Chair of the Initiative Ireland Credit Committee, the members of which have prior experience of lending over 4Bn into the Irish residential development market. Rushe oversees the internal review of all loans prior to approval for listing on the platform. Prior to joining the company, Padraig was a Corporate Banking Director at Bank of Ireland where he originated and managed bilateral and syndicated loan facilities ranging up to 500m per facility within an overall loan portfolio of circa 100billion. In this role, he provided multi-billion euro in credit and risk management facilities to a large global corporate and institutional client base. He has provided credit advisory services to companies and Government Agencies in Ireland and Overseas. Rushe was a co-founder of the Green IFSC initiative (now Sustainable Nation Ireland). He was previously a member of the Government's Clearing House Group for the IFSC. He is chairman of the IFSC Dublin Inner City Trust, a charity supporting communities in inner city Dublin. He is a board member and audit committee chair of St Catherine's Association Ltd., a disabilities services charitable organisation. He is a director of Initiative Financial Services Ltd and Initiative Ireland Nominees Ltd. Rushe graduated Valedictorian with an MBA from Lake Forest Graduate School of Management, Illinois in 1988. He completed a Diploma in Company Direction with distinction in 2017 and is a Chartered Director with the Institute of Directors Ireland & UK.
CEO of Initiative Ireland Padraig W. Rushe has over 15 years of experience in business and finance, specialising in regulatory, operational and credit risk management. He has held Senior Risk and Commercial Management roles within the financial services industry, having worked with Ulster Bank, GE Money and Bank of Ireland. He has significant commercial experience managing and launching regulated financial product portfolios within the UK and Ireland. As a Commercial Manager, he has experience managing and growing a revolving loan portfolio of over 100m and over 2 billion of client funds, delivering radical positive P&L interventions to underperforming portfolios, enhancing profitability and satisfaction for two million accountholders. During his time as a risk manager, he delivered in excess of 100m in loss avoidance and recovery measures through new operational and technology programs. Rushe is the Managing Director of Initiative Ireland Nominees Limited, a Trust and Company Service Provider authorised by the Department of Justice and Equality of Ireland. He is also the Managing Director of Initiative Financial Services UK Ltd, an appointed representative of Thornbridge Investment Management LLP which is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. Padraig holds an MBA with distinction from Trinity College Dublin, a BA Honors from University College Dublin and is a Qualified Financial Adviser (QFA) certified by the LIA & UCD.
