I build guitars in the Torres tradition. Guitars are often built in the Torres style, employing a body shape, headstock design, or decorative elements evocative of Torres' instruments. Often, however, the guitars are not built as Torres would have made them. They may have altered bracing, top, back and side thicknesses not in keeping with Torres' practice, and are usually more heavily built...
I believe an instrument built in the Torres tradition is most successful when it employs all the elements of Torres' design. This means a responsive, lightly built instrument braced as Torres would have braced his guitars. I believe this also means using hide glue throughout and a traditional finish like French polish for the entire guitar.
