Our research focuses on the role of the intestinal epithelium in health and disease. The epithelium forms a critical barrier and gateway between the external environment and our bodies. We are studying how the epithelium plays a central role in inflammatory diseases of the gut, particularly Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis... We are members of the Inflammation Research Network and the Gastrointestinal Research Group in the Snyder Institute for Chronic Diseases.
