MIDKENT COLLEGE - Key Persons

Martin Peat

It's funny how some simple things and decisions in life change things forever. For me, my career was decided when I left school and was walking around Maidstone with my brother. In short, it started to rain, really heavily, the nearest shelter happened to be the job centre and my brother pulled a card off the job advert board. It said, Trainee Accountant required, he said that would suit me, and the rest is history. After I qualified, I spent a number of years in the commercial sector before joining Ravensboure College as Director of Finance and Estates. I worked for two other colleges until I moved to MidKent College a few years ago. The longer I work in this amazing sector the more I realise the impact we have on so many lives and the more I wanted to contribute. My satisfaction comes from students' progress now, rather than my own.
