The origin of the firm can be traced back to 1952 when Archie Service, now retired, began his long and storied law practice. Jim Spinner began practicing with Archie Service in 1985, and the two have practiced together since that time until Archie retired in 2016. Doug Wood joined the firm in 2010 and has continued his civil practice through the firm while also being the elected prosecutor for Caribou County, Idaho. Tom Smith brought his talents into the firm in 2016 after several years of practice in the private and public sector. On January 1, 2019, the firm changed its name from Service & Spinner to reflect the current attorneys at the firm.
