Alice Reynolds was appointed to the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) as President by Governor Gavin Newsom on Nov. 22, 2021. Previously, she served for three years as Governor Newsom's senior advisor for energy. From 2011 to January 2019, she served in the administration of Governor Brown, most recently as the Governor's senior advisor for climate, the environment, and energy and previously as chief counsel and deputy secretary for law enforcement at the California Environmental Protection Agency. President Reynolds began her public service career in 2002, serving 10 years as a deputy attorney general in the California Attorney General's Office, where she litigated cases involving the protection of public trust lands, coastal resources, and public access, and other environmental issues. President Reynolds holds a bachelor's degree from Stanford University and a juris doctor degree from Santa Clara University School of Law where she graduated magna cum laude.

Before being promoted to her current position, she was SDG&E's chief operating officer. Under Winn's leadership, SDG&E has become a leader in expanding the EV charging network across the San Diego and southern Orange County region. Dan Lashof

David Hochschild

David Hochschild has enjoyed a long career in public service, environmental advocacy and the private sector. Most recently, he was appointed chair of the California Energy Commission by Governor Newsom in 2019. Previously, he was the environmental member for the commission. As Special Assistant to San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown, he launched a citywide $100 million initiative to put solar panels on public buildings. Hochschild co-founded the Vote Solar Initiative, a 60,000-member advocacy organization promoting solar policies. He worked for Silicon Valley solar company Solaria; as executive director of a national consortium of leading solar manufacturers; and commissioner at the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission. Hochschild was awarded the Sierra Club's Trailblazer Award, American Lung Association's Clean Air Hero Award, and DOE's Million Solar Roof True Champion Award. As the longest-serving head of the California Air Resources Board, Nichols is credited with pioneering innovative regulatory and market-based programs that have improved public health and the environment across the country and around the world. Her tenure at CARB extended from 1979-1983, and 2007-2020 when her final term ended. Her career of service in public agencies, universities and nonprofit organizations has been recognized for a dedicated commitment to evidence-based problem solving that includes all stakeholders with a focus on providing benefits to all communities, particularly those most impacted by threats to public health. She currently is Distinguished Visiting Fellow in the Columbia Center on Global Energy Policy; Senior Visiting Fellow at the Cornell Atkinson Center for Sustainability; and Professor of Law at UCLA Law School, and Vice Chair of the California-China Climate Institute at the University of California.

Mel Levine

Mel Levine is counsel to the international law firm of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher where he was a partner for 19 years. He was a member of the U.S. Congress (D - CA), 1983-1993, and California Assembly (D - L.A.), 1977-1982. In public office, he was a leader on environmental and energy issues, having authored the California Solar Rights legislation and the California Energy Conservation tax credit as an Assemblyman. Currently, he is Board of Commissioners President for the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power, Advisory Board Chair at USC's Center on Public Diplomacy, Pacific Council on International Policy board member, and advisory board member of the Goldman School of Public Policy, UC Berkeley. He received his J.D. from Harvard Law School, M.P.A. from Princeton University and A.B. from UC Berkeley. He and his wife, journalist Connie Bruck, have four children, Adam, Jake and Cara Levine and Ari Schlossberg.

A nationally recognized writer, speaker, and commentator on energy and environmental issues, Brune is the author of Coming Clean: Breaking America's Addiction to Oil and Coal (2010). He holds degrees in economics and finance from West Chester University in Pennsylvania.

Miguel Romero is chief commercial officer for San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E), one of Sempra's California regulated utilities. As chief commercial officer, Romero is responsible for all commercial growth initiatives and a growing portfolio of clean energy strategies, innovations, and projects to support SDG&E's progress toward net-zero emissions. Romero joined the Sempra family of companies in 2004, and has held a number of positions with increasing responsibilities in the development of renewable energy, energy storage, clean transportation, hydrogen, and other advanced clean energy technologies. In his most recent executive roles, Romero served as vice president of energy innovation as well as vice president of energy supply for SDG&E. Romero holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of San Diego and a master's degree in international affairs & management from the University of California, San Diego.
