VL Open Hearts program's purpose is to comprehensively train and support consumers with developmental disabilities to live independently and productively by providing quality services to improve their overall quality of life. VL Open Hearts believes that the consumers we support are the center of all service delivery and it is our philosophy that their individual goals will lend guidance and direction for the services we provide... Our philosophy of client centered service integrates personal choice as it relates to supporting the individual's needs, wants, likes and dislikes. It is within this framework that VL Open Hearts strives to support and recognize individual strengths to meet needs... We understand the importance of family and provide individuals with the skills needed to foster positive interpersonal relationships between family members.
