ALIFDO is a membership-based non-for profit entity. We are completely independent from any intergovernmental or other organisation. The people involved in the governance of the organisation do so on an entirely voluntary, non-remunerated basis. Membership is individual... It all started with a bunch of lawyers, working at three different intergovernmental financial organisations in London, Washington and Bejing, who decided to create a non-profit organisation incorporated in England, with the "global ambition" of bringing all lawyers working in intergovernmental organisations committed to finance or development under one umbrella. That was in 2017. Today we have a membership base of over 400 lawyers, working in almost 20 intergovernmental organisations around the world.
