Aalap Chokshi, MD is a cofounder of IHS. He is a noninvasive cardiologist with a focus on multimodality imaging at Englewood Health in Englewood, NJ where he is an associate with Englewood Cardiology Consultants. He has launched a successful program in cardiac CT and MRI at Englewood Health.
Dr. Chokshi graduated with Distinction in Research from the accelerated medical program at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and Albany Medical College. He completed a clinical research fellowship with the Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant team at Columbia University. He went on to complete Internal Medicine residency training at Brown University and Cardiovascular Disease fellowship training at Tufts Medical Center. He received advanced cardiac imaging training at Mount Sinai Hospital.
He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, Echocardiography, Nuclear Cardiology, Cardiovascular Computed Tomography and Vascular Ultrasound interpretation. Dr. Chokshi is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology.
Adrian J. Mora, MD is a cofounder of IHS and a board certified diagnostic radiologist with a focus in cardiac imaging, emergency teleradiology, and neuroradiology. Dr. Mora is also a Navy diagnostic radiologist stationed at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, MD.
Adrian J. Mora, MD was born in Los Angeles, California and raised in Quito, Ecuador and subsequently in Lakeland, Florida. Dr. Mora graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, with Merit and was commissioned into the United States Navy Reserve. He attended Yale University School of Medicine and graduated in 2011. He entered active duty service and completed his Transitional Year Internship at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth in 2012 followed by completion of his Diagnostic Radiology Residency at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth in 2016. He served as a staff academic diagnostic radiologist at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth from 2016-2019. He has held several staff diagnostic radiology positions in the Virginia Hampton Roads Region.
Dr. Mora deployed aboard the USNS Comfort (T-AH 20) as a staff radiologist in support of the Enduring Promise 2018 mission which provided humanitarian medical aid to Central and South American partner nations. Dr. Mora lives in Falls Church, VA with his wife and two children. He enjoys family time, travel, and basketball.
Ahsan Khan, DO is a general cardiologist practicing in New Jersey. Dr. Khan was born and raised in New York and attended medical school at the New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine in the accelerated BS/DO program. He completed his internal medicine residency in Saint Michael's Center and was awarded the Peter Ho Memorial Award for Humanitarianism in Medicine. He then specialized in cardiovascular medicine at Medical City Fort Worth, where he served as chief fellow. He went on to complete his advanced cardiovascular imaging fellowship at Columbia University Medical Center and became Level 3 trained and board certified in Cardiac CT, Cardiac MRI and Nuclear cardiology (including cardiac PET). He is also board certified in echocardiography.
Dr. Khan returned to New Jersey to practice cardiology in Saint Michael's Medical Center and Saint Clare's Hospital to bring advanced cardiovascular imaging to the community hospital setting. He is a member of the faculty for the cardiology fellowship at Saint Michael's Medical Center and enjoys teaching residents and fellows.
Alex Bustamante, MD is a cofounder of IHS. He is a board-certified cardiologist who holds a particular interest in multimodality cardiac imaging to include echocardiography, nuclear cardiology and cardiac CT. Dr Bustamante has served in the United States Navy for over 20 years and holds the rank of Captain.
He has helped to establish the cardiac CT programs at both Walter Reed National Military Medical Center and at Fort Belvoir Community Hospital. He has been actively involved in teaching medical students, residents and fellows for over 10 years in clinical cardiology and imaging across the national capital region.
Dr Bustamante has held multiple leadership positions in the Navy and will retire to join a private practice to help establish their cardiac CT practice. In his spare time, he enjoys playing guitar and spending time with his 4 children.
Alexander Ellis, MD is a cofounder of IHS and the director of adult congenital imaging. As a pediatric and adult congenital cardiologist, Dr. Ellis has been interested in congenital heart disease imaging throughout his career. During his fellowship and post-fellowship ACHD training, he received extensive training in cardiac CT and MRI and has gone on to further his experience in the additional 10+ years of practice at the Children's Hospital of the King's Daughters in Norfolk, VA. He is currently the co-director of the congenital cardiac CT and MRI imaging program there and has a special interest in imaging the adult with congenital heart disease.
Dr. Ellis attended medical school at the Medical College of Virginia/VCU in Richmond, then pursued combined internal medicine/pediatric residencies at the Medical University of South Carolina where he then stayed for his pediatric cardiology fellowship. Thereafter, he went on to work with Dr. Gary Webb at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia for additional ACHD training. He is board certified in internal medicine, pediatrics, pediatric cardiology, and adult congenital heart disease.
Dr. Ellis is a native Virginian, having been born and raised in Richmond. He attended Princeton University where he majored in ecology and evolutionary biology and spent a year doing field research in Panama. There, he became conversant in Spanish. He then received a graduate degree in biology from McGill University in Montreal.
Amrita Karve, MD is a cofounder of IHS. She is currently an attending cardiologist at Mount Carmel Health in Columbus, Ohio, where she is a member of Columbus Cardiology Consultants. She has an interest in multimodality cardiac imaging most notably cardiac MRI, echocardiography, and nuclear cardiology. She is the co-director of the Women's Cardiovascular Clinic at Mount Carmel Health.
Dr. Karve received a B.S. and M.D. from George Washington University. She completed Internal Medicine residency at the University of Michigan, and completed Cardiovascular Disease fellowship at The Ohio State University with a focus in cardiac MRI.
She is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Diseases, Echocardiography, and is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology. In her spare time she enjoys painting.

Anil Kumar, MD, MRCP, RPVI, RPhS, is board certified in internal medicine and cardiovascular disease. He is also certified by the American Board of Vascular Medicine, the American Board of Venous & Lymphatic Medicine, the National Board of Echocardiography, and the Certification Boards of Nuclear Cardiology and Cardiovascular CT. His clinical interests include cardiovascular imaging, phlebology, and vascular medicine.
Dr. Kumar earned his medical degree at Government Medical College, Patiala, Punjab, India. He completed an internal medicine residency at the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education & Research, Chandigarh, India, and a senior residency in cardiology at Escorts Heart Institute & Research Center, New Delhi, India. He then completed an additional internal medicine residency at Sound Shore Medical Center of Westchester, New Rochelle, NY (now known as Montefiore New Rochelle Hospital), where he was named Outstanding Medical Resident. He completed his training with a cardiology fellowship at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, PA. He joined Yavapai Regional Medical Center, Prescott, AZ in 2016 where he is the Director of Cardiovascular imaging and the Founding Director of the Vein Center.
A fellow of the American College of Cardiology, Dr. Kumar is affiliated with many other professional societies including the American College of Phlebology, the International Society of Cardiovascular Ultrasound, and the Society for Vascular Medicine. He is a member of the International Editorial Boards of Indian Heart Journal and the Medical Society of Western Greece and Peloponnesus. In addition, he serves as a reviewer for Vascular Medicine, Clinical Cardiology, Journal of Invasive Cardiology, and Heart and Lung.
Barry Rayburn, MD is a cofounder of IHS. He practices at Cardiology Specialists of Birmingham and serves as Medical Director of Heart Failure for the Ascension Alabama market.
Dr. Rayburn completed his medical education at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and went on to complete his residency and fellowship there as well. He served as an Assistant Chief of Service at Johns Hopkins before taking faculty positions initially at Wake Forest University and then at the University of Alabama at Birmingham where he attained the rank of Professor of Medicine and served as Director of the Cardiovascular Module for the School of Medicine before joining his current practice.
Dr. Rayburn and his wife have three children and in his spare time he enjoys photography and teaches an adult Sunday school class for the past several years.
Bijesh Maroo, MD is a co-founder of IHS. He is currently an attending cardiologist at Mount Carmel Health in Columbus, Ohio, where he is a partner of Columbus Cardiology Consultants. Dr. Maroo has an interest in multi-modality cardiac imaging, including echocardiography, nuclear cardiology, cardiac MRI, cardiac CT and peripheral vascular ultrasound. He currently is the director of Cardiac MRI at Mount Carmel health.
Born in Cleveland Ohio, Dr. Maroo went on to Yale University graduating with a BS in Biology. He then earned his MD and an MS in Applied Anatomy from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, graduating Alpha Omega Alpha. He completed internal medicine residency at University Hospitals of Cleveland and then cardiology fellowship at the Ochsner Clinic in New Orleans, LA, serving as Chief Fellow.
Dr. Maroo is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, nuclear cardiology and has the registered Physician in Vascular Interpretation credential. He is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology.
Brendan O'Connor, MD is a cofounder of IHS. He is a board-certified diagnostic radiologist with an interest in cardiac CT and MR imaging. As a lieutenant commander in the United States Navy, Dr. O'Connor is an attending radiologist at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth (Portsmouth, Virginia), where he also completed residency and was chief resident.
In his tenure as a Navy physician, he served as a flight surgeon stationed in Jacksonville, Florida, and supported his squadron's deployment to Okinawa, Japan. He holds numerous leadership positions, currently serving as lead interpreting physician of his division and as a member of the medical executive committee at his institution. As an active member of the American College of Radiology, he sits on the military subcommittee for general, small, emergency, and rural practice.
Dr. O'Connor attended medical school at Northeast Ohio Medical University. He holds a BA in political science from the University of Notre Dame.
Chiduzie Madubata, MD is a noninvasive cardiologist with Einstein Cardiology Associates in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He is also a clinical assistant professor of medicine at Thomas Jefferson University. Originally from Riverdale, Maryland, Dr. Madubata completed his undergraduate studies at Harvard University with a degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology and subsequently attended Tufts University School of Medicine. He then completed his Internal Medicine residency at Brown University and completed a Cardiovascular Disease fellowship at Drexel University College of Medicine. During his time in fellowship, he developed an interest in imaging and ultimately focused on echocardiography and nuclear cardiology. To further his interest in imaging, he started to focus on Cardiac CT during his first few years in practice. Dr. Madubata is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, Echocardiography, Nuclear Cardiology and Cardiac CT. He is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology, and he is member of the American Heart Association, the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology, the Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography, and the Association of Black Cardiologists. In his spare time, he is a big soccer fan, primarily supporting the United States and Nigeria in international soccer as well as Chelsea in the English Premier League. Dr. Madubata is also interested in music. He sings in church choirs and plays the pipe organ occasionally in services and recitals.
Chris Vaccari, MD is a cofounder of IHS. He is a non-invasive cardiologist in practice with Hagerstown Heart in Hagerstown, MD, where his focus has been preventive cardiology and advanced cardiac imaging. Dr. Vaccari is originally from Maryland. He completed his undergraduate work followed by his medical doctorate at the University of Maryland. He completed internal medicine residency at Duke University and cardiovascular medicine fellowship at Emory Univeristy. While spending a year as chief cardiology fellow, he also trained in advanced cardiac imaging, becoming level 3 trained in cardiac CT and MRI.
After completing his training, Dr. Vaccari moved back to Maryland and joined a private practice in Hagerstown, MD. His focus there has been maintaining the echocardiography laboratory, for which he is the director, and helping to institute a cardiac PET program within the office. With help from local radiologists, he has also helped to institute a budding cardiac CT program in this region. However, his main passion remains patient care in a largely rural and underserved region.
Dr. Vaccari is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease and echocardiography.
Christopher Maroules, MD is a cofounder and serves as Chief Operating Officer for IHS. He is a cardiothoracic radiologist for Radiology Associates of South Florida and has helped develop advanced cardiac imaging programs at military hospitals throughout the United States. Dr. Maroules serves on the Board of Directors for the Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography (SCCT) and has co-authored numerous guidelines for coronary CT angiography. He also serves on the ACR Appropriateness Criteria Committee for Cardiac Imaging, and directs a successful Level II cardiac CT training course. Dr. Maroules attended the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, graduating with honors and Distinction in Research. Following a medical tour with the United States Navy, he returned to Dallas to complete residency and a cardiothoracic imaging fellowship at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. While in training, Dr. Maroules became recognized for his contributions to the Dallas Heart Study, one of the largest population-based cardiac research studies. He received several awards from the ACR, ACC, and RSNA, including funding to develop new MRI sequences for evaluating blood flow in the lungs and heart. Dr. Maroules is Board Certified in Diagnostic Radiology and Cardiovascular Computed Tomography, and is Level III-trained in both cardiac CT and MRI.
Christopher Sardon, MD, MPH is a Diagnostic Radiologist at Wilford Hall Ambulatory Surgical Center/Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, TX.
Dr. Sardon grew up in Sacramento, CA and traveled across the country to Oneonta, NY to complete his undergraduate studies at Hartwick College with a degree in Biology. He subsequently attended Boston University to obtain a Master in Public Health with a concentration in Health Policy and Management. He then joined the United States Air Force and attended the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USUHS) School of Medicine in Bethesda, MD. After completing his medical degree, he completed a Transitional Year internship at David Grant Medical Center at Travis Air Force Base in Fairfield, CA. Dr. Sardon then completed a 2 year operational tour as a Flight Surgeon at Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma City, OK. Following this flight surgery tour, Dr. Sardon completed his diagnostic radiology residency at the Naval Medical Center Portsmouth in Portsmouth, VA.
In his free time he enjoys spending time with family, going to concerts, traveling, running, and playing soccer.
Cody Johnson, MD is a cofounder of IHS. He is a diagnostic radiologist who has a profound interest in cardiac imaging because of the power it holds to diagnose patients in need and lead to potentially life-saving treatments. He believes that the exciting and innovative technology behind cardiac imaging is the future in the management of heart disease.
Dr. Johnson was born in Cleveland, OH and graduated summa cum laude from Kent State University in Kent, OH with a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science with a concentration in American politics as well as a second major in pre-medicine. He then attended the University of Toledo College of Medicine and graduated as a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. Following medical school graduation, he began his internal medicine internship at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth and subsequently finished his diagnostic radiology residency there, having served as the chief resident prior to graduating.
He is currently a staff radiologist at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center where he provides care for the nation's leaders and military service members. He lives in Maryland just outside of Washington, D.C. and enjoys running, American history, and spending time with his family.
Douglas Powell, DO is a cofounder of IHS. Dr. Powell is a double fellowship trained cardiac radiologist and interventional radiologist. He is currently in a large private practice in Oklahoma City, OK. He is Board Certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Radiology in Interventional Radiology & Diagnostic Radiology with Certificates of Added Qualifications (CAQ) in Inventional Radiology.
Dr. Powell has been passionately engaged in teaching residents and fellows the complementary advancements in cardiac imaging and interventions for over 20 years. During his career, as Associate Professor of Radiology at Oklahoma University Health Science Center, Oklahoma City, OK and Assistant Professor of Radiology at University of North Dakota, he has served as mentor and instructor of advanced cardiac imaging for medical students, residents and fellows in radiology.
Dr. Powell graduated with a BA from Albion College, Albion, MI and attended Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine (MSU-COM) where he participated in the early utilization of MRI for cardiac imaging. He completed residency in Diagnostic Radiology from Oklahoma State University College of Osteopathic Medicine (OSU-COM). He completed a fellowship in Advanced Cardiac Imaging (emphasis on MRI/CT) from Cleveland Clinic Foundation, in Cleveland, OH. He completed a second complementary fellowship in Vascular Interventional Radiology from Case Western Reserve University, in Cleveland, OH. Dr. Powell has Certificate of Added Qualifications (CAQ) in Interventional Radiology. He has served as an International Radiology Board examiner to advance cardiac imaging and interventions. Dr. Powell with his wife and 4 sons live in Oklahoma City, OK.
Dr. Katarina Nelson is a noninvasive cardiologist who specializes in a wide range of cardiovascular imaging modalities. After finishing her general cardiology fellowship at the University of Miami, she pursued a two-year fellowship in advanced cardiovascular imaging at the Brigham and Women's hospital focusing on cardiac CT, cardiac MRI, SPECT/PET nuclear imaging, echocardiography, and vascular ultrasound.
As a medical director of Cardiovascular Imaging at Moses Cone Hospital, she built a robust cardiac CT program that was an early adopter of CT FFR technology building one of the busiest programs in the country using CT FFR. She currently practices cardiology at Centura Health.
Dr. Roosha Parikh is currently an Assistant Professor of medicine, and a cardiologist specializing in advanced cardiovascular imaging and associate program director of the cardiovascular imaging fellowship at St. Francis Hospital and Heart Center. She completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Cleveland Clinic Foundation, followed by a fellowship in cardiovascular disease at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai Beth Israel. She further underwent a 2 year advanced cardiovascular imaging fellowship at Houston Methodist Hospital, where she trained in cardiac CT, cardiac MRI, advanced and interventional echocardiography, and nuclear cardiology with board certification in all of these modalities.
Elvis Cami, MD is a cofounder of IHS and serves as the Director of CT Strategy. He is a cardiologist specializing in high-risk interventional imaging in structural heart interventions at Beaumont Health System in Royal Oak, Michigan. He is also an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine.
Dr. Cami graduated from Michigan State University with a degree in Human Biology. He attended the University of Toledo Medical School and completed Internal Medicine Residency training at the University of Michigan. He pursued his cardiovascular disease fellowship at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan where he served as chief cardiology fellow. While there, he also spent one year of specialized training focusing on cardiac MRI, cardiac CT, and intraprocedural structural heart imaging. His clinical practice includes general cardiology, advanced valvular and structural heart disease with a focus on imaging.
Dr. Cami is board certified in general adult cardiology, echocardiography, nuclear cardiology, cardiac CT, and Cardiac MRI. He is Level III trained in echocardiography, cardiac CT, and cardiac MRI. He serves as the medical director for cardiac MRI at Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak. In his spare time, he enjoys skiing, high performance driving and playing Legos with his daughter, Zara.
Dr. Fentanes is a graduate of the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine 6 year BA-MD program. He completed an internship and internal medicine residency at Tripler Army Medical Center, Honolulu, HI, an adult cardiovascular disease fellowship at Brooke Army Medical Center, SA, TX, and an Advanced Cardiovascular Imaging Fellowship at Brigham and Women's Hospital/Harvard Medical School in Boston MA. He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Adult Cardiovascular Disease, Adult Comprehensive Echocardiography, Cardiovascular CT, and Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance. Dr. Fentanes is on Active Duty at Brooke Army Medical Center, where he is the Co-Director of Cardiac Imaging and Echocardiography and the Director of Cardiovascular Research. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology, a Fellow of the Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography, a Member of the American Society of Echocardiography, and a Member of the Society of Cardiac MRI.
Farhan Katchi, MD is an Assistant Professor in the Cardiovascular Division of the Department of Medicine at Washington University School of Medicine. He also has an appointment with the Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology.
He currently attends as a Cardiologist with a focus on multi-modality imaging including Echocardiography, Cardiac CT, MRI, SPECT, and PET.
Dr. Katchi graduated Summa cum laude from Rice University where he earned a bachelor's degree in Biochemistry. He went on to study medicine at Washington University School of Medicine, completed his Internal Medicine residency at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, and his Cardiology fellowship at New York Presbyterian Hospital, Weill Cornell Medicine. He was elected chief fellow and is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Medicine, Echocardiography, Vascular Ultrasound, Cardiac CT, and Nuclear Medicine. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology.
In his clinical cardiovascular practice, he specializes in coronary artery disease, advanced valvular and structural heart disease, aortic diseases, and general cardiology with a focus on echocardiography, cardiac computed tomography, cardiac MRI, and nuclear cardiology.
Gabriel Improvola, MD is a cofounder of IHS. He is a noninvasive cardiologist with an interest in multimodality imaging. He started his clinical career in Argentina were he went to medical school at National University of Cordoba and trained in Internal Medicine and Cardiology at the University of Buenos Aires.
George Ghuneim, DO is a co-founder of IHS. He attended medical school at Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his Internal Medicine Residency at Michigan State University- McLaren Oakland Hospital and completed Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship at Michigan State University - McLaren Macomb/Oakland program.
Dr. Ghuneim's clinical practice focuses on vascular disease, pulmonary hypertension and multi-modality cardiovascular imaging at Mercy Health St. Mary's Hospital in Grand Rapids, MI. He is Board certified in Internal Medicine and Nuclear Cardiology. He will be sitting for his Cardiovascular Medicine, RPVI, and CT boards this year.
Hannah Burmeister MSN, NP is a cofounder of IHS and serves as Director of Outreach at IHS. She is a Cardiac Nurse Practitioner at Innovation Cardiology and previously managed critical care interdisciplinary healthcare teams in multiple hospital emergency roles including Charge Nurse of the Emergency Department, lead Trauma RN for a level II trauma center, and Bed-flow Coordinator.
Throughout her career, she has provided critical Emergency Department care for neonatal to geriatric age patients and earned recognition for excellence in patient outcomes and integrity-driven professional clinical care under pressure. She has special professional interests in cardiac care of vulnerable patients with cardiomyopathy, cardio-obstetrics, resistant hypertension, and atrial fibrillation, as well as those with chest pain with risks for coronary disease. She is the first cardiac nurse practitioner in Virginia to earn level II certification in cardiovascular CT angiography.
She holds two Masters of Science degrees, one from the University of Maryland School of Nursing in Baltimore in Clinical Nurse Leadership and one from Georgia Southwestern State University as a Family Nurse Practitioner, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
When she is not working, Hannah enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and making pottery.
Heather Sabri is a cofounder of IHS and serves as education coordinator for IHS virtual courses and training liaison with the Society for Cardiovascular CT, Society for Cardiovascular MRI, and the CBCCT Boards. She has over 15 years of experience in cardiology services administration. In her free time she enjoys traveling, volunteering, and spending time with family and friends. She lives by the motto: Plan your work and work your plan.
Huma Samar, MD is a noninvasive cardiologist with a special focus on cardiac imaging. She is the Director of Advanced Cardiac Imaging at the Loma Linda VA Medical Centre in Loma Linda, California and has faculty appointments at Loma Linda University and at The University of California, Riverside. Dr. Samar is very closely involved in the cardiac imaging training of cardiovascular disease fellows at Loma Linda and at UC Riverside. In addition, she also trains radiology residents in Cardiac CT, MRI and Cardiac SPECT imaging.
Prior to joining Loma Linda VA Medical Center, she was the Chief of Cardiology at the Syracuse VA Medical Center. Dr. Samar completed her Internal Medicine residency and Cardiology fellowship at the Upstate Medical University, Syracuse, NY and Advanced Cardiac Imaging fellowship at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA.
Dr. Samar is level III certified in cardiac CT and cardiac MRI and is board certified in Clinical Cardiology, Echocardiography, Nuclear Cardiology, Cardiac CT and Cardiac MRI.
Joseph Marquardt, DO is cofounder of IHS. He is a diagnostic radiologist with a passion for cardiac imaging. He obtained his level II certification in cardiac CT while completing his residency training at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth, the first physician in his training program to obtain this certification while still in residency.
Prior to completing his diagnostic radiology residency, Dr. Marquardt attended undergraduate and medical school in Arizona and completed a transitional year internship at Naval Medical Center San Diego. He was given the opportunity to train as a flight surgeon in Pensacola, Florida and then worked as a naval flight surgeon in Yuma, Arizona for 2 years, where he deployed with the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, before moving to Portsmouth, Virginia for residency training.
Dr. Marquardt is currently a staff radiologist at US Naval Hospital Okinawa and functions as the CT/MRI division head in addition to the MR medical director for his institution. He lives with his wife and 2 children and enjoys sports, exercise, travel, and movies.
Kent Hall, MD is a cofounder and Chief of Staff at IHS. He is a diagnostic radiologist who holds level II certification in interpretation of Coronary Artery CTA. Kent has a great interest in cardiac imaging because of the large number of patients affected by heart disease and the fantastic potential of this evolving field of imaging to help people live longer and more active lives.
After obtaining his undergraduate degree from the University of Dayton, Kent matriculated at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, earning his post nominal initials. After spending the majority of his early educational years in southern Ohio, the Navy gave Dr. Hall the opportunity to practice medicine all across the United States, and even in Okinawa, Japan. He completed radiology residency, and was chief resident, at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth.
Venturing outside of the radiology reading room, Kent has taken on the additional challenges of being the Director of Radiology at the Navy's largest hospital outside of the United States and he is an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Radiology for the Uniformed Services University. Whether instructing medical students, residents, or radiology technologists, Dr. Hall brings the same level of commitment and enthusiasm to these leadership and educational tasks as he does with his patient care ventures.
After growing up in Satellite Beach, Florida Dr. Weber graduated from the University of Florida in 2003 with a B.S. in Zoology and a B.S. in Nutritional Sciences. She commissioned into the U.S. Navy prior to attending medical school at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USUHS) in Bethesda, Maryland.
Dr. Weber graduated USUHS in 2007 and went on to complete her internship in Internal Medicine prior to departing to Pensacola, Florida to attend the Aeromedical Officer course. There she completed the flight and aeromedical training in order earn her wings and become a Navy Flight Surgeon. She went on to serve in the Osprey training squadron VMMT-204 and ultimately deployed with Osprey Squadron VMM-266 on the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU). Among her many roles on the MEU she served as the units sole MEDEVAC officer and received the Boeing Rescue Award for the first long range MEDEVAC in an Osprey.
After returning from deployment, Dr. Weber finished her training in Internal Medicine at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. After residency she was chosen to serve as the Chief of Residents where she aided in the education and advancement of over 70 physician trainees and revamped the educational curriculum. Following her Chief year, she entered Walter Reed's Cardiovascular Fellowship Program and after completing fellowship stayed on as a staff Cardiologist until 2021. During her time at Walter Reed she served as the Associate Program Director for the Cardiovascular fellowship program, Director of Echocardiography and Director of Advanced Cardiac Imaging. She holds certifications in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Medicine, Adult Echocardiography, Cardiac Computed Tomography, and Nuclear Cardiology. She also concurrently served as the Deputy Chief of the Department of Medicine, responsible for over 800 personnel and the operations of 13 services.
Dr. Weber has been a student of leadership and followership, and was awarded the Lieutenant General Claire L. Chennault Award for demonstrating innovation, fairness, teaching effectiveness, and leadership. She has given over half a dozen lectures and workshops on topics related to followership.
Dr. Weber has recently transitioned out of the military having fulfilled her service obligation and has started in a new role as a general, non-invasive Cardiologist for Confluence Health in Wenatchee, Washington. She counts herself lucky to have the love and support of her husband and three boys without whom she would sadly have less dirt, Legos, and pizza in her life.
Leslie Oberst, MD is a cofounder of IHS. She is a non-invasive cardiologist who specializes in preventive medicine and advanced cardiac imaging. She completed her residency in Internal Medicine at St. Luke's Presbyterian hospital in Chicago, Illinois. She went on complete her cardiology fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine. Dr. Oberst completed her fellowship in cardiology, she was drawn to cardiovascular MRI after seeing cardiac MRI images. She inquired and was the first fellow to complete cardiac MRI fellowship training at Texas Heart in 2002. She joined a large group of fifty cardiologists where she was the director of a successful Medical Director of CT and MRI program. She was a founder of developing a very low-cost calcium score protocol for screening patients to allow patients to be able to afford this test in 2002.
She worked as a reviewer for a large insurance company in advanced imaging and helped direct guidelines and understanding for others in the group allow advanced studies to be approved and ordered for patient care.
She has continued to direct and teach technicians and fellow colleagues and strived for image quality and lower radiation doses. She has directed and started ground up imaging programs at each site she worked over the years. She loves to teach fellows and residents in cardiology. Due to her love of teaching, she was given prestigious Teacher of the Year award at the University of Florida in 2017. Currently, Dr. Oberst resides and works in Kentucky to be close to her family.
Dr. Oberst is Level 3 trained in cardiac CT and MRI. She is trained in TAVR imaging, stress MRI and calcium scoring. She is also trained in vascular imaging. She is board certified in Cardiovascular disease by ABIM.
Dr. Oberst loves to paint oil paintings. She won a Physician of the Arts award in medical school and sold her paintings to galleries in the past. She loves design and loves to cook.
Marc Burrell, MD is a cofounder of IHS. Dr. Burrell is a vascular and interventional radiologist with an interest in advanced cardiac imaging currently in private practice in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Mazen Awais, MD is a cofounder and head of business development at IHS. He serves as an attending noninvasive cardiologist with a focus on multi modality imaging at tbe Mount Carmel Heart and Vascular Center in Columbus, Ohio where he is a partner with Columbus Cardiology Consultants. He also serves as an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine at The Ohio State University.
He received an A.B. from Princeton University where he concentrated in the School of Public and International Affairs. He attended medical school at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, and completed Internal Medicine residency and Cardiovascular Diseases fellowship at the University of Michigan. In his clinical cardiovascular practice, he specializes in coronary artery disease, advanced valvular and structural heart disease, and general cardiology with a focus on echocardiography, cardiac computed tomography, and nuclear cardiology.
He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Diseases, and Echocardiography, and is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology.
Michael Reid is a cofounder and the Chief Technology Officer at IHS. Michael is passionate about architecting technology solutions that add positive societal value. He is the gatekeeper of IHS's Cloud presence.
He has been involved in numerous medical start-ups, including novel treatments of disease and therapeutics. Michael founded and led an IT Consulting company for 20 years, servicing clients in the healthcare, telecommunications, and financial industries. There, among several other high profile engagements, he ran the infrastructure and security program for an association of 10,000+ medical professionals and was the principal infrastructure consultant for a mobile payment app start-up founded by three of Canada's leading telecommunications giants. Michael continues to consult in the areas of enterprise and solutions architecture, server deployment and management, Cloud solutioning, and security.
Michael holds a Bachelor of Systems Design Engineering from the University of Waterloo in Canada, lives in Toronto, and hides from technology with his family at the cottage every chance he gets.
Mohit Bhasin, MD is a cofounder of IHS and serves as current President. He is the Medical Director of Cardiovascular CT and MRI Imaging at Sentara Heart Hospital and co-director of Pediatric Cardiovascular MRI and CT imaging at Children's Hospital of the King's Daughters. Dr. Bhasin directs a level III one year apprenticeship for cardiologists in cardiovascular MRI and CT and has trained over 2000 radiologists and cardiologists over 15 years in cardiovascular CT courses in Virginia, endorsed by the Society of Cardiovascular CT.
He attended medical school at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta as a Robert Woodruff Scholar in Medicine, then completed Internal Medicine Residency and Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship and served as Chief Cardiovascular Fellow while pursuing two years of specialized training in the field of Cardiovascular MRI and CT imaging. A former George Starbuck Fellow at Boston University in Creative Writing and winner of the William Carlos Williams Prize from the Center for Human Values in Medicine, he has become a recognized leader in heart photography. His clinical cardiovascular office practice, Innovation Cardiology (www.mohitbhasin.md) specializes in diseases of the aorta, adult congenital heart disease, and multimodality tertiary referral cases such as cardiac masses, as well as general cardiology .

He has been voted one of the Top Cardiologists in Virginia by his peers every year for over a decade. Christopher Maroules, MD is a cofounder and serves as Chief Operating Officer for IHS. He is a cardiothoracic radiologist for Radiology Associates of South Florida and has helped develop advanced cardiac imaging programs at military hospitals throughout the United States. Dr. Maroules serves on the Board of Directors for the Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography (SCCT) and has co-authored numerous guidelines for coronary CT angiography. He also serves on the ACR Appropriateness Criteria Committee for Cardiac Imaging, and directs a successful Level II cardiac CT training course. Dr. Maroules attended the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, graduating with honors and Distinction in Research. Following a medical tour with the United States Navy, he returned to Dallas to complete residency and a cardiothoracic imaging fellowship at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. While in training, Dr. Maroules became recognized for his contributions to the Dallas Heart Study, one of the largest population-based cardiac research studies. He received several awards from the ACR, ACC, and RSNA, including funding to develop new MRI sequences for evaluating blood flow in the lungs and heart. Dr. Maroules is Board Certified in Diagnostic Radiology and Cardiovascular Computed Tomography, and is Level III-trained in both cardiac CT and MRI.
Dr. Shaher completed his cardiovascular training at University of Louisville in 2004, where he served as a chief cardiology fellow. He continued on to work as an assistant professor then associate professor at UoL. He is currently a clinical associate professor at Indiana University.
He has extensive knowledge in advanced cardiac imaging with over 18 years of experience in all aspects of Cardiac MRI and Cardiac CT. He has received board certification in echocardiography, nuclear cardiology, Cardiac MRI and Cardiac CT. He is one of the founding members of Society of Cardiac CT, and an active member of Society of Cardiac MRI. He has multiple publications in all aspect of cardiac imaging.

Neerav Sheth, MD is a cofounder of IHS. He attended medical school at Northeastern Ohio University College of Medicine and completed Internal Medicine Residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals. He completed Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship at Penn State Hershey Medical Center and Interventional Cardiology Fellowship at Providence Hospital and Medical Center. He received a Masters in Business Administration from George Washington University. School of Business.
His clinical practice is focuses on interventional cardiology and multimodality cardiovascular imaging. He is Board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, Interventional Cardiology, Cardiovascular Computed Tomography, Nuclear Cardiology, Echocardiography, and Vascular Ultrasound interpretation. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions.
Neil Amin, MD is a cofounder of IHS. He is a board-certified diagnostic radiologist with a special interest in Cardiac CT and MRI. He has a special interest in the application of CT/MRI in post-operative complications and functional dynamics.
Dr. Amin graduated Summa Cum Laude in Industrial Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology. He received his medical doctorate from the Medical College of Georgia where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He completed an Internship and Residency in Diagnostic Radiology at Emory University. Following this, he completed an advanced fellowship in Cardiovascular/Thoracic imaging at Emory University.
Dr. Amin was an Associate Professor with the Cardiothoracic Division and Community Division at Emory. There he enjoyed teaching residents, directing tumor board and interstitial lung disease conference.

Steven Assalita, MD is a cofounder of IHS. He serves as associate program director of the cardiology fellowship, assistant professor, and attending noninvasive cardiologist at Christiana Care in Delaware. Professionally he strives to educate medical students, residents, and fellows in both clinical medicine and diagnostic imaging while in his personal life he enjoys history, travel, and scuba diving. Dr. Assalita attended medical school at Temple University in Philadelphia, PA, completed an Internal Medicine Residency Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, OH, and Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Diseases, Echocardiography, Nuclear Cardiology, is board eligible for Cardiac CT, and is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology.
Neil McKechnie is a cofounder and the Chief Information Officer at IHS. Neil is a successful business leader, industry influencer and technology architect. At Intel, he progressed from an elite 2-year training program to senior management positions in sales, marketing and customer loyalty. He maintained technical depth and influenced C-level executives at Cisco, Motorola, Microsoft and other large clients and partners. He then co-founded CharityLogic, where he built iCarol which became the primary software system at hundreds of non-profit helplines around the world. When acquired in March 2018, iCarol attained over 75,000 users logging over 10 million call/chat/text interactions annually across four geographically-distributed data centers with annual uptime exceeding 99.995% and a database approaching 1 TB in size, supported by 20 employees he hired and managed.
Neil holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Electrical) from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor as well as a Masters of Business Administration from the University of California, Berkeley and is a citizen of both Canada and the United States. He actively maintains his technical depth on technologies for Software-as-a-Service endeavors. He lives with his wife and two sons in northern California.
Pallavi Bellamkonda, MD is a cofounder of IHS. She is a cardiologist with Dignity Health Medical Group, Heart and Vascular Institute and Medical Director of the Echocardiography and Nuclear labs at St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix, AZ.
Dr. Bellamkonda's expertise includes general cardiology, Echocardiography, Nuclear Cardiology and Cardio-oncology. Regina Kayse, MD is a cofounder of IHS. She is a noninvasive cardiologist currently working in Cincinnati, Ohio. She has a particular interest in CT and echocardiography imaging for the diagnosis and management of cardiovascular issues.
Dr. Kayse received her BS and MD from Loyola University Chicago and completed her Internal Medicine residency at Loyola as well. She was a chief resident in her final year. She then completed Cardiology fellowship at the University of Cincinnati and served as a chief fellow during that time.
She is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Medicine, and Nuclear Cardiology and will be sitting for her Echo and CT boards this year.
Dr. Stoebner is a non-invasive cardiologist board certified in Cardiovascular disease. He spent the first part of his career in the US Navy. Highlights included assignments as a general medical officer with the Marines, an internist at the United States Capitol and then a general cardiologist on the inaugural staff at Fort Belvoir Community Hospital. He later deployed on the hospital ship USNS Mercy for the humanitarian deployment Pacific Partnership in 2018.
He completed general cardiology training at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. He then went on to complete a two-year fellowship in advanced cardiac imaging with a focus on cardiac CT and cardiac MRI at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, California. After this training he served as director of advanced cardiac imaging at Naval Medical Center San Diego.
He currently works in the Austin, Texas region. He helped launch a cardiac CT imaging program which incorporates the use of CT FFR technology.
Rob Nottingham, DO is a diagnostic radiologist who completed his residency at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth. It was there that he cultivated his passion for cardiothoracic imaging and where he first worked with our co-founder and COO, Dr. Maroules.
Dr. Nottingham was born in Jacksonville, FL and graduated with honors from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology as well as a minor in Aerospace Education. After graduating medical school and completing internship, he became a Flight Surgeon for the Navy's VP-10 patrol and reconnaissance squadron. During his tour, he completed two deployments to Japan and Italy in support of humanitarian missions and tracking adversarial military submarines. At the end of his 3-year tour, he was awarded Flight Surgeon of the year and the Navy Commendation Medal for outstanding service.
Dr. Nottingham is currently a staff radiologist at Naval Hospital Jacksonville. He enjoys time at the beach with his family, watching sports, and bike riding.
Saleen Khan, MD completed her residency training in Internal Medicine at East Carolina University Brody School of Medicine, where she is currently the chief cardiovascular fellow at the East Caroline Heart Institute. Upon completion of her medical training, she will join WakeMed Heart and Vascular in Cary, NC.
Dr. Khan's expertise includes General Cardiology and Cardiac Imaging. She is board certified in Internal Medicine, Echocardiography, Cardiac CT and Nuclear Cardiology. She has extended training in Cardiac MRI from Duke University. She is a FIT member of American College of Cardiology.

Dr Adigopula earned her medical degree from the Guntur Medical College, India. She did further training in the United Kingdom and then went on to become a member of the Royal college of physicians (MRCP, UK). She then moved to the United States and completed Internal Medicine residency and Cardiovascular Medicine fellowship at Yale University School of Medicine. She completed additional training in Cardiovascular MRI/CT at NIH and Johns Hopkins Medicine Suburban Hospital.
She is board-certified in Cardiovascular diseases, Echocardiography, Cardiac CTA and Nuclear Cardiology. Dr. Adigopula's clinical interests include multimodality cardiovascular imaging, women's heart health, cardio-oncology, and resident training. Sourabh Prabhakar, MD is a noninvasive cardiologist with an interest in multimodality imaging. He started his clinical career in India where he went to medical school at Pondicherry University. He completed Internal Medicine residency as well fellowship in Cardiovascular medicine at Allegheny General hospital, Pittsburgh.
After finishing his fellowship he was a consultant cardiologist at Aultman Hospital in Canton, OH for several years. He is currently completing a fellowship in Advanced Cardiac Imaging at St. Francis Hospital, Roslyn, NY. He has a particular interest in Coronary Artery Disease, Valvular Heart Disease and preventative Cardiology.

Terry Bauch, MD is a cofounder of IHS. He serves as an attending invasive/non-interventional and non-invasive adult cardiologist at the Geisinger Wyoming Valley Heart Hospital, an assistant program director for the Wright Center Cardiovascular Fellowship, and a Clinical Assistant Professor for the Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine. His clinical practice includes advanced valvular and structural heart disease with a focus on imaging, exercise physiology, and hemodynamics. He has served as a fellowship program director, founded an advanced imaging fellowship, implemented a Cardiac CT program for the University of Texas at San Antonio, and has been a Cath Lab director, and a medical director of several non-invasive laboratories. He directs the Cardiopulmonary Exercise Testing labs for Geisinger, and manages Cardiac CT protocols and implementation at Geisinger's northeast region hospitals. Dr Bauch enjoys teaching and provides lectures and bedside instruction to medical students, IM residents, and Cardiology fellows.
Dr. Bauch completed a B.S. in Computer Science at Duke University, attended medical school at the SUNY Downstate medical center in Brooklyn, and completed Internal Medical residency at William Beaumont Army Medical Center. He completed his Cardiovascular Disease fellowship at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio.

Vikram Brahmanandam, MD is a cofounder of IHS and our Director of Cardiac MRI Strategy. He is currently an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Montefiore-Einstein Center for Heart and Vascular Care in New York City. He is a noninvasive cardiologist with expertise in cardiac CT and MRI in addition to echocardiography, nuclear cardiology and general clinical cardiology. He participates in the training of both cardiology and radiology fellows. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Medicine, Echocardiography and Nuclear Cardiology.
Vikram received a BA in Economics at Brown University and pursued his MD at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. He completed Internal Medicine residency training at Boston University Medical Center and Cardiology fellowship at the University of Illinois Medical Center. He completed an additional year of advanced cardiovascular imaging training at Ohio State University Medical Center with a focus on cardiac stress MRI and congenital CT and MRI. In his spare time Vikram enjoys playing blues guitar and riding his road bike around the city.
