SEWAHSP - Key Persons
Dr Corinne Squire is Manager of SEWAHSP the South East Wales Academic Health Science Partnership and Manager of Innovation for Cardiff University Clinical Innovation Hub. She has developed the Health Technology Challenge from a regional pilot to an All Wales initiative now in its fourth year and is currently part of the team establishing a National Medical Technologies Adoption Hub for Wales.
Corinne's background was in R&D and Technology Transfer at Cardiff University. She previously worked in industrial and academic research. She gained her PhD in Biochemistry from Cambridge University.

Mrs Sue Bevan is a PRINCE2 qualified, Foundation & Practitioner Project Manager at the South East Wales Academic Health Science Partnership. Sue's background is varied, having served as a member of Her Majesties Armed Forces, she then went on to work at the BBC before training as an Independent Financial Advisor. Looking for a change in career Sue took on the role of Mitigating Circumstances, and Senior Quality & Enhancement Officer at the University of South Wales, while working full time Sue undertook a BA Hons in Business and Management, before leaving to work at the Medical School in Bristol University as Assessments and Feedback administrator, before joining the team here at SEWAHSP in November 2013.

Professor Sue Bale has been Director of the South East Wales Academic Health Science Partnership since 2013 and works 1 day a week with her colleagues Sue Bevan, Robyn Davies and Dr Corinne Squire.
Sue Bale was appointed as the R&D Director at ABUHB in June 2013 and previously held the post of Assistant Nurse Director (R&D) for 9 years. She leads research within the organisation, developing strategy and implementing national policy, encouraging participation in research activities, and co-ordinating and overseeing research in the organisation. Sue also holds a Chair at the University of South Wales and at Cardiff University.
Sue Bale has a career in wound healing research and has published widely over the past 34 years. Her research practice and education interests are wound care, pressure ulcers and incontinence dermatitis. She is the incoming President of the EWMA, and until recently has held the posts of Communication Lead and Editor of the EWMA Journal. In 2004 Sue received recognition for her services to wound healing when the Royal College of Nursing conferred on her a Fellowship for her ‘Outstanding contribution to nursing research, development and practice of wound care in the UK and internationally'. More recently in 2014, she was invested with an OBE by her Majesty the Queen for ‘Services to nursing and nursing research'.
Sue has worked in the Welsh Government for the Chief Nursing Officer for Wales on Clinical Academic Career pathways, developing policy for building research capacity and career paths for nurses and Allied Health Professionals.
