Ed Sauls

Job Titles:

Ed Sauls is CEO of The California Land Conservancy. He is also President of The Sauls Company, a DBA of Development and Conservation Management, Inc. Through the CLC and The Sauls Company, Ed has been personally responsible for the conservation of 15,000+ acres in California. Ed was Consulting Project Manager for the first NCCP Plan (Fieldstone) and was instrumental in advocating the first "No Surprises" policy for habitat conservation planning to better ensure developer/landowner incentives for conservation. He has also been instrumental in several other major conservation policies, including being an advisor in formulating the Western Riverside Multispecies Habitat Conservation Plan (WRMSHCP), an advisor to the first Tribal Habitat Conservation Plan, and the first Conservation Banks. Finally, Ed was also a part of the first Sikes Act/Memorandum of Understanding for mitigation on federal land for California state permit

Henri Bisson

Henri Bisson serves as an Advisory Member to the California Land Conservancy. Henri served more than 34 years as a career employee of the Bureau of Land Management (BLM). He began his career in 1974 and worked his way up with the BLM before served as the Deputy Directory for Operations from 2006 until his retirement. For most of the last two years of his career, he also served as Acting Senior Advisory for Alaska Affairs for Interior Secretary Dirk Kempthorne. Henri has a long history of project and program management leadership. Since retiring from BLM, Henri has served on the Advisory Council for the Teddy Roosevelt Conservation Partnership, served of the President of the Public Lands Foundation, and as Senior Advisor on Renewable Energy Development for Marstel-Day, LLC. Henri has a BS in Forest Resources from the University of New Hampshire and an MS in Watershed Management from the University of Arizona.

Juan Hernandez

Juan Hernandez is currently a board member of The California Land Conservancy. Juan has over 30 years of experience in biology, regulatory permitting, environmental review, and project management. Juan additionally previously worked as head of the Streambed Alteration Agreement Program at the California Department of Fish and Wildlife for western San Bernardino and Riverside counties.of The California Land Conservancy. Lindell Mash

Lindell Mash serves as an Advisory Member to The California Land Conservancy. A graduate of Hastings College of the Law, 1966, with highest honors and previously a partner with Nossaman, Guthner, Knox & Elliott (1967 - 1986) and Siemon, Larsen & Marsh (1986 - 2003), Lindell runs his own practice and specializes in legal matters regarding land use, natural resources, and the environment.

Lisa Sauls is Secretary, Treasurer, CFO and a board member of The California Land Conservancy. Lisa has been a Certified Public Accountant for 40+ years and been with the accounting firm of Letwak & Bennett since 1986. As CFO/Treasurer of The California Land Conservancy, Lisa handles fundraising, taxes, and budgets for the CLC.

Michael Carroll

Michael Carroll is currently a board member of The California Land Conservancy. With over 20 years studying and implementing irrigation and conservation, Michael Carroll runs his team of landscapers with a wealth of knowledge in the industry, striving to always put his customers' needs first. A graduate of the University of Nevada Las Vegas, Carroll successfully runs Eco Planet Landscaping using his expertise, technology and contemporary and proven agriculture practices. His experience includes weed abatement, invasive plant species removal, and habitat restoration throughout Southern California. Michael has also served as a planning commissioner for the City of Lake Elsinore Planning Commission.

Sherry Teresa

Sherry Teresa serves as an adviser to the CLC on environmental and conservation issues. As founder of The Center for Natural Lands Management, she has over 29 years of experience in evaluating and protecting biological resources in both the public and private sector. Ms. Teresa completed a Bachelor's degree in Zoology with honors from Brigham Young University and a Master's degree with honors in Biogeography and Ecosystems Analysis from UCLA.

Tami Wilhelm

Board Member, Tami Wilhelm comes from a background of ranching and conservation. Her family was responsible for the conservation of the Thousand Palms Oasis and the Paul Wilhelm Grove in Coachella Valley, California. Tami Wilhelm was also personally responsible for the conservation of a 72-acre vernal pool complex on the Wilhelm Ranch in Hemet, California under the Western Riverside Multiple Species Habitat Conservation Plan (MSHCP). Tami has been a licensed Real Estate professional and served as a member of the planning commission for the City of Hemet. She was instrumental in the planning of West Hemet Specific Plan where she worked closely with land owners and government officials to find equitable solutions to development and conservation needs. An active member of the community, Tami has served on The Healthy Valley Hospital Foundation, The Valley Homeless Task Force, and The Board of directors for the Ramona Bowl Amphitheatre. She is also currently serving as the Chair of the Planning Commission for the City of San Juan Capistrano.

Wayne White

Wayne White is a board member of The California Land Conservancy. Wayne spent thirty-one year with the US Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS). As the Chief of the Endangered Species Program and a Field Supervisor in Region 1 of FWS, Wayne developed ESA policy in early years of implementing the ESA. While managing the FWS's largest field office in Sacramento CA, he became very involved with developing policy for conservation and mitigation banks for FWS. Wayne was on the Board of Directors for the Center for Natural Lands Management for 12 years and the National Mitigation Banking Association holding officer positions as vice president one year and president for two years. He is currently a Board member with the Habitat Stewardship Foundation, The California Land Conservancy, and serves as chair for the Pacific Whale Foundation Board.
