Ashlee Myers

Ashlee Myers joined our team in August 2018. Ashlee has the role of Legal Assistant and Admin Support based out of the Clarkesville office. While Ashlee did not have any prior legal training, she did bring with her a wealth of prior customer service experience, having worked mainly in the retail industry: as a business owner, consultant for interior design, and as a pharmacy tech. Ashlee is a great addition to our team and "touches" almost every client file.

Emily Ann Carr

Emily Carr is an experienced family and criminal law attorney practicing in and around Clarkesville, Gainesville, and Cleveland, Georgia. After graduating from law school in 2003, Emily was licensed by the State Bar of Texas. For two years, she served as Assistant District Attorney for the Smith County District Attorney's Office in Tyler, Texas, where she prosecuted misdemeanor crimes such as assault, driving while intoxicated, and drug charges. In 2005, Emily went into private practice, defending clients in both felony and misdemeanor cases. In 2007 and 2008, Emily prosecuted for the City of Tyler, Texas, in Municipal Court. In 2009, Emily joined the Carr Law Group in Georgia, where she relies on her extensive courtroom experience to defend clients in a wide range of family and criminal law cases. Emily Shultz

Emily has been part of The Carr Law Group team since June 2018. Before joining our legal team, Emily worked for 3 years with a law firm based out of Orlando, Florida where she gained experience in bankruptcy, foreclosure, and collection law. Emily has her Associate of Science in Paralegal Studies from Valencia College, with a specialization in Litigation. Emily's primary focus at The Carr Law Group will be to assist our bankruptcy and litigation clients. Emily is married with two children. We are excited to have Emily on our team, where she will continue to develop expertise in all areas of the law.

James H. Cox

The attorneys at The Carr Law Group consider it a great honor to have practiced alongside James "Jim" H. Cox from 2013-2021. Mr. Cox wrapped up his distinguished legal career and retired in September 2021. Attorney James H. Cox, who joined the firm as "of counsel" in 2013, brought more than 40 years of experience to the Carr Law Group's civil litigation practice. Jim tried cases in state and federal courts throughout the country, ranging from catastrophic injury auto accidents to lawsuits involving international corporations. He was licensed to practice in State and Federal Courts in Georgia, as well as five of the nation's Federal circuit courts of appeal and the United States Supreme Court.

Lauren Nelson

Lauren Nelson is a recent graduate of Habersham Central High School and is a current Political Science major at The University of North Georgia, with a concentration in Pre-Law. Lauren started as an intern but now works part-time for The Carr Law Group as administrative support, often helping staff and attorneys manage their calendars, with filing, errands, and client support. Lauren continues to grow in and learn about our legal community, aspiring to have a future career in the legal field after completing her education. The Carr Law Group is proud to be part of Lauren's legal development and understanding.

Lori Duke McAvoy

Lori has over 5 years of experience with The Carr Law Group, spending time helping our bankruptcy clients and most recently managing our real estate closings. Lori's background is multifaceted, always leading by example in the cell phone tower and construction industries, as well as raising a family locally and being heavily involved in the local political scene. Lori was part of the Habersham County Leadership Class in 2016 and Stephens County Leadership Class in 2021. You may have even heard Lori on the radio highlighting and covering all of the current hot topics in our community. If you know Lori, you also know she casts a ray of sunshine on all things she touches. We are fortunate to have Lori representing The Carr Law Group.

Melodie Salter

The Carr Law Group welcomed Melodie to our legal team in May 2020 to assist with bankruptcy and litigation matters. Melodie and her husband are delighted to be residents of beautiful Habersham County after moving from the Atlanta area in 2019. Melodie's first occupation was that of graphic artist/ typesetter. She worked for several printers in Atlanta before earning her paralegal certificate in 2008. Melodie's legal experience includes a ten-year career with a well-known employment law firm and several years spent as a litigation and personal injury paralegal. Melodie has a grown son, a grandson, and two granddaughters. She is also Mom to 2 dogs and a cat - all spoiled rotten.

Nichole Ellington

Nichole has been with The Carr Law Group since September of 2015 as the main assistant in the firm's real estate closing department. She came to The Carr Law Group with 11 years of experience as a loan processor at a local bank where she learned about residential and commercial loans, banking procedures and customer service. Nichole has been able to transfer much of that experience to her legal profession with The Carr Law Group. Nichole was raised locally in White County, Georgia and enjoys working with the community and is a proud parent! Nichole took part in Leadership White County in 2014, a program sponsored by the White County Chamber of Commerce and has been very active in Relay for Life and Kiwanis in recent years.

Quentin Carr

Quentin Carr is an experienced attorney practicing in bankruptcy, real estate, and business law. He has been practicing law since 2006 as part of the Carr Law Group, serving clients in and around Clarkesville, Gainesville, and Cleveland, Georgia. Sandra Free

Sandra Free joined our team in January 2020 and is a Habersham native. She has over 35 years of experience in the legal field as a Legal Assistant in the areas of Family Law, Litigation and Real Estate. Sandra still resides in Habersham County with her Husband. She also has three daughters and 6 grandchildren. Sandra has been a great addition to our team and brings well-rounded experience and assistance to attorneys and staff.
