Annmarie Allchurch

Annmarie Allchurch has been Headteacher at Mount Wise Community Primary since 2022. Prior to that, she was the Headteacher of St Andrew's CE (VA) Primary, an outstanding Plymouth school. Before becoming a Headteacher, Annmarie was an Education Adviser with Plymouth Local Authority, supporting schools in challenging circumstances, working with both Senior and Middle Leaders across the city. In recognition of this work and her role as an Improving Schools Programme Advisor, Annmarie was designated as a Local Consultant for Improvement (LCI) by The National Strategies. Annmarie is committed to improving the education and life chances of pupils in Plymouth and believes that a rich and diverse curriculum is paramount to this.

Kate Lewin

Kate Lewin is very proud to have been the Headteacher of Hooe Primary Academy since 2020; it is a very friendly, community-focused school. Everyone who is part of the Hooe Primary Academy community strives to be the best they can be - a great ethos to have. The school are happy, passionate about learning and ambitious. She came to Hooe Primary Academy and taught her first Year 3 class in 2001, following class teacher roles in Ermington and Dartmouth previously. Throughout her time at Hooe Primary Academy, she has been fortunate to teach in every year group and held the roles of both Key Stage One and Key Stage Two leader before becoming Deputy Headteacher. Kate has always thoroughly enjoyed watching the progress made by the children in her classes but believes her most rewarding role was that of SENCo. At present Kate is the Designated Safeguarding Lead, Designated Teacher for Looked After Children and Early Career Induction Tutor. She is the Reading and Computing curriculum leader with shared responsibility for PSHE and Well-being and this year, Kate is teaching the Year Six class one day a week.

Tessa Saunders

Job Titles:
  • Headteacher of Woodfield Primary
Tessa Saunders is the Headteacher of Woodfield Primary and Nursery School in Whitleigh. Tessa joined the school in 2010 as the Maths and Computing lead as well as the Year 1 teacher. Over the years she has taken on many other roles at the school, including Assistant Headteacher and Head of School. In that time Tessa played a key role in the development of the school under the previous Headteacher helping the school achieve their two most recent, successful Ofsted inspections. Tessa is currently working with a fantastic team that are continuing to raise standards and aspirations for all the children at Woodfield. Tessa moved to Plymouth to train as a teacher at Marjon University and once qualified she worked in a variety of schools in Plymouth, Devon and Torquay before starting at Woodfield. During her time at Woodfield Tessa has been a PLE (Primary Leader in Education) and an SLE (Specialist Leader in Education) working for the Plymouth Teaching School supporting teachers and schools across the City to improve especially with Maths and Early Years. Tessa believes passionately in equity in education and ensuring that children reach their full potential. She has worked hard to develop the school's relational approach and she shares these ideas and practises with other schools across the Trust.

Victoria Broughton

Vicky Broughton is the Headteacher of Widewell Primary Academy, a single form entry primary school with Nursery situated in the northern part of Plymouth. Under her leadership, the school thrives on 12 acres of expansive grounds, featuring a large sports field, a woodland conservation area, and various play spaces designed to foster both recreational and adventurous play. Widewell Primary serves a diverse community that includes families from the local areas of Widewell, Belliver, and Southway, with a notable focus on supporting service families. Vicky is dedicated to fostering a sense of belonging among service children within the wider school community. She has implemented bespoke support, events and clubs specifically designed to meet the needs of children from military families, underpinning her commitment to support their pastoral and academic progress. Alongside this, Vicky encourages a collaborative approach to ensure that every child at Widewell Primary reaches their full potential within a positive and nurturing educational environment. In addition, Vicky works closely with her staff to cultivate a culture of excellence and innovation. She believes that children's skills, knowledge, and values flourish in a supportive yet challenging learning atmosphere which is created at Widewell.
