Alison Whitehead

Alison has returned to Financial Services following a career as a Chartered Physiotherapist. Prior to venturing into healthcare, Alison worked for both Scottish Life and a firm of financial advisers in Manchester, where she obtained the Financial Planning Certificate and went on to become an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute before making a move to Clarion Wealth Planning. Having recently joined Suttons, Alison has found herself reunited with some of her former colleagues. Alison is making great strides forward in supporting the wealth management team and is a great addition to our office. Away from Suttons, Alison is a busy mum of two who enjoys keeping fit and enjoying walks with friends.

Ben Horsfield

Ben joined Suttons in 2018 after nearly 20 years with RBS. Working at RBS, Bens work centred around the acquisition and development of client relationships. Ben worked with a specialist portfolio made up of medical professionals and affluent entrepreneurs supporting the development of their wealth including acquisition of property, pension and investment advice alongside their day-to-day general banking requirements. Bens real skill, aside from relationship management lies in the complex lending market and we were delighted that Ben joined Suttons to set up our mortgage department with the aim to further support you, our clients, your professional contacts, friends and family with some of the most important decisions in life. Ben is also an accredited adviser with CeMAP and regularly provides advice to clients on mortgages including residential purchase/re-mortgages, buy to lets (individual and Limited Company) and continues to work with financial professionals in the commercial finance arena to help support clients in the best possible way. Bens spare time revolves around his family. Ben is married to Tracy and has two children (Eve & Louie) along with a 3 year old Cocker Spaniel called Belle. Ben loves working with charities, supporting those that are less fortunate than himself, and will be undertaking the National and Yorkshire "Three Peaks" in 2023 in support of Reubens Retreat!

Ben Preston - Managing Director

Ben is a Chartered Financial Planner and joined Suttons in 2009. Ben helps his clients navigate the personal and financial challenges of how to fund and sustain an income into retirement.

Chris Pughe

Job Titles:

Chris has recently joined Suttons having started work in financial services since 2018 post-graduation. With a degree in Economics, financial services seemed like a natural fit for Chris, who has not looked back since. Chris enjoys working closely with clients in order to gain a deep understanding of their goals and aspirations, and recognises that there is a real opportunity to make a real difference to our clients lives now and for generations to come which means this is more than a job for him. Chris has a number of strings to his bow, but a key strength is his ability to work through a number of scenarios with clients using detailed comprehensive cash flow planning focusing on helping clients and their families gain clarity and confidence around their finances to ensure the best possible outcomes are always achieved for our clients. Away from the office, Chris likes to keep busy with family and friends, especially where good food is involved. Chris is also a keen sportsman and enjoys spending time at the Etihad stadium following his beloved Manchester City!

Dal Singh

Dal has extensive knowledge of employee benefits, protection and private medical insurance. Having worked for both insurers, and independent financial advisory firms he has a vast amount of experience delivering the best value for money solutions for his clients, delivering the most comprehensive cover within their budget. Dal has a passion for delivering excellent customer service to his clients. In his spare time, he devotes his time to helping others, and volunteers for a number of charities, including feeding the homeless, and sending essential needs to the most vulnerable. Dal strongly believes in being a good humanitarian.

Daniel Barrett

Dan joined Suttons in 2021 armed with great enthusiasm having graduated from Manchester Metropolitan University with a first-class degree in Economics & Banking. Dans first role at Suttons was with our sister company Sports Financial Services, who specialise in personal protection solutions for some of our most complex clients. Dan has always had a desire to become a financial adviser and this quickly lead to a transfer to our wealth management team at Suttons. Dan now works closely with our team of experienced advisers in an administrative and paraplanning role to help deliver the very best service possible. Dan is part way through the process of examinations to attain his CII certificate in mortgage advice and the CII diploma in regulated financial planning, which he hopes to achieve in 2024.

Harvey Sutton

Harvey has over 30 years' experience in financial services and set up Suttons in 2006 with the aim of providing the best possible financial advice to clients both locally and nationally. Harvey has advised hundreds of individual clients and understands the financial issues of managing a business. Harvey has also personally invested in, and assisted clients to invest in, residential and commercial properties. These investments have been made through many different legal entities, such as Limited Companies and pensions to ensure tax efficiency. He takes pride in building long-term relationships with clients and providing a high level of service, ensuring all the communication and advice given is clear and concise, providing clients with confidence and clarity. For Harvey, there is nothing better than showing his clients there is a brighter future. A key area of Harvey's expertise is helping clients understand of all forms of taxation and the importance of timing the crystallisation of gains. Harvey helps guide clients through the complicated world of investing, in the most appropriate financial products, to suit their individual needs. Harvey has always maintained a hands on approach to working with his clients and takes great pleasure in finding innovative ways to invest their money and achieve the highest possible return within their mutually agreed risk appetite. A keen follower of the markets, Harvey works closely with his clients to discuss that they are fully aware of the benefits from investing in the markets in the medium to longer term. Harvey is also keen to stress that the broader planning picture also includes ensuring that clients, and their family take advantage of all available allowances in order to; maximise growth, reduce the tax burden, and protect their family's future. Outside of work, Harvey enjoys spending time with his family, sailing and trying to keep fit. He is passionate about football, particularly watching his son play.

Luke Davidson

Luke joined Suttons at the end of 2021 to embark on a new career in financial services. Luke joined having run his own successful business from a relatively young age so is already well versed in supporting some of our most complex business owners. Luke has joined with the intention of gaining Chartered status as a financial adviser and will support our experienced team of advisers whilst completing his training. Luke is part way through the process of examinations to attain his CII certificate in mortgage advice and the CII diploma in regulated financial planning, which he hopes to have completed by 2024. Luke's enthusiasm for his work and study is mirrored away from the office and includes sports such as football, golf and padel amongst others.

Luke Mather

Luke is a chartered financial planner and joined Suttons in 2023. Luke has an excellent reputation with his clients and among his peers and goes the extra mile to help clients reach their goals. Luke works with a variety of clients from pension consolidation all the way up to more complex cases such as inheritance tax planning and intergeneration wealth planning. He also has the long term care licence, helping families navigate the difficulties of caring for their loved ones when faced with health issues such as physical disability or dementia. As an avid fan of cash flow analysis, Luke includes this as part of the service for a majority of his clients and the visual representation of a financial plan goes down extremely well with clients, helping them to understand their plan through easy to read graphs and charts. Outside of work, Luke is Married to Jenny and has two young children. When he's not chasing around after the kids you might find him on the golf course or watching any sport imaginable on the TV

Matt Townley

Matt joined Suttons in November 2020, keen to embark on a new career in financial services. Matts experience prior to joining Suttons was in sales, operations and client management within the oil and petrochemical sector. Moving into financial services has proved to be a steep learning curve, of which, Matt is enjoying immensely.

Michelle Stenton

Michelle was a welcome addition to Suttons team having joined us early in 2020. Michelle has spent the majority of her career in financial services having worked in a variety of roles at Bank of Scotland, where Michelle has gained a wealth of knowledge around client management and regulation. Michelle is part of our client management team and is the first smile to greet you as you come through the front door, even on a cold and wet winters day. Michelle has taken on a variety of roles since joining Suttons and takes great pride in ensuring that every client interaction adds value to their day.

Safeer Sulehman

"Saf" joined Suttons at the beginning of 2020 having graduated from University with a degree in Economics and experience working for two wealth management firms, most notably Chase De Vere. His desire to be the very best he can has been evident at every step of his journey to become a financial adviser. Safs first position at Suttons was as a paraplanner, working closely with Ben Preston to provide support to our clients. He excelled and quickly moved into the position of Advising the firms clients. He thoroughly enjoys working closely with clients in order to understand their needs and goals. Ultimately to help build a comprehensive financial plan whether that is to accumulate wealth ahead of retirement or for retired clients to help maximise tax-efficient income in retirement - allowing them to enjoy retirement on their own terms Saf continues to gain real day-to-day experience in the business. He joined the industry in 2017 and has worked hard to sharpen his technical skills by gaining his Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning in 2020. He is now using that momentum as he gears up to continue his studying towards Chartered Financial Status. Saf has had a busy couple of years having purchased his first home (in Cheadle Hulme) in the summer of 2022 with his wife. Most of his spare time is spent renovating his new home. Outside of this, he enjoys keeping in good shape so during most evenings you will find him working out in the gym local to East Didsbury. He enjoys spending his weekends catching up with friends and family.

Sandra Heaton

Sandra has over 30 years of experience in Financial Services. After working on the mortgage desk and in the pension department at Royal London, Sandra joined Suttons in September 2001. Sandra holds a key role by heading up the client manager team at Suttons and is the backbone of our administration process. Sandra works incredibly hard to ensure that the team deliver a consistently great service to our clients.

Simon Baggott

Simon has worked in the Financial Services Industry for nearly 19 years. Prior to that, Simon worked in a variety of accountancy and financed based roles, both in public practice and in industry. Simons earlier roles gave him a thorough understanding of finance and operating a business. These roles provided Simon with invaluable skills and lessons are regularly used today. Simons foray into financial services was seen as a natural progression. Simon is grateful to be in a position that allows him to work with a fantastic group of clients and provide a high quality financial planning service. Cashflow planning is the cornerstone of the advice process, and it allows Simon to deliver the best outcome for clients. It' s never too late to engage with a financial planner! On a personal level, Simon is happily married, with two wonderful children, all of whom keep him busy and out of trouble!, although Simon does like to get out on the golf course when he can.

Steven Walker APFS

Steven has a wonderful warmth when it comes to financial services "I adore Financial Planning and the chance it gives me to care for and assist people to have a better outcome for their lives and their children's futures, it is my passion and vocation". Steven is a Chartered Financial Planner, considered the gold standard for advisors in the UK and has been a practicing advisor for many decades. Steven provides detailed and comprehensive cash flow financial plans for clients to ensure that their plan is robust and on track annually. Steven follows the mantra that every man should have a job, a hobby and a sport, whilst the job has stayed the same throughout, Stevens hobbies have changed and adapted, as has his sport, despite this he can still be found walking many mountains and moors frequently, and adding to this pursuit with a golf club in hand on or around the golf clubs of Cheshire and Great Britain.
