Hang Nguyen

I have been in my current position as a student vet nurse since September 2021 but have been a part of the Barrier team since 2018. I have an immense passion for animal welfare and strive to provide the best nursing care to all the pets who visit the practice. In my spare time I like to try new authentic cuisines, keeping active and spending quality time with my family and friends. I also have four cats who I adore dearly.

Jason Richardson

I started working at Barrier in February 2024 as Practice Manager and I have been involved in management for animal related industries for the last 12 years prior to joining Barrier Vets. I am really looking forward to helping Barrier grow and enhance the current high level of animal care and welfare that is already in place. My main responsibility is to ensure the practice is running smoothly and ensuring our clients and pets are happy and content. I have a young son called Joey, Benny the cocker spaniel and 5 cats (Ivy, Bluebell, Timmy, Willow and Basil).

Jennifer Giugler

I have been a receptionist since March 2022 after studying at London Metropolitan University. As a receptionist, I am responsible for greeting clients and providing great costumer care. I am also involved in answering general queries and booking appointments. I am passionate about animals of all species and sizes. Outside of the practice, I also enjoy spending time with my cat, reading and writing. Also enjoys long walks along the Thames

Kathryn Adjei

I have been part of the veterinary industry for over 10 years, working my way up from a volunteer, to a student and then as a qualified Registered Veterinary Nurse in 2018. In January 2022 I started at Barrier as a Registered Veterinary Nurse and became the Head Nurse in April 2022. I manage the nursing and admin team and provide nursing care to pets that come into the practice. I am also a Clinical Coach, so I'm supporting our student Hang through her training. I am very passionate about animal welfare and providing gold standard care to all pets. I have also done a course in Schedule 3 procedures, which means I can carry out some minor surgical procedures. Outside of the practice I love painting and cross stitch and hanging out with friends and family. I especially enjoy spending time at home with my partner and my 2 cats Rosie and Jeff.

Peter Silke

After qualifying from the University of Cambridge in 2014, I spent five years working in a small animal practice in West London, followed by another four years working in a practice in Suffolk. I joined Barrier as a full-time veterinary surgeon in January of 2024. As part of the care that we offer at the clinic, I carry out consultations, diagnostic procedures including blood tests and imaging (ultrasound and X-rays), as well as a range of surgical procedures. My particular interests are in internal medicine and diagnostic imaging in cats and dogs. Across the years I have treated a range of species, including rabbits, guinea pigs, chickens and have even operated on rats and a degu! When I'm not working in practice I enjoy learning about history, going to exhibitions, listening to music and trying new food. I enjoy relaxing at home with my partner and my rescue cat, Freyja.
