I think that the things we use every day should be more than just functional. Here at Josie Fay I aim to make the everyday essentials beautiful, tactile and a pleasure to carry. Using the finest quality British and Italian leather, all of my items are completely handmade and hand stitched. I use rich, vegetable tanned leather which ages gracefully, mellowing and softening, picking up marks, shine and a unique patina with use... I design and make all of my pieces in my Cornish studio. After completing a degree in fashion design I went on to work in womenswear before settling into accessory design. I fancied making a satchel for myself one day and never one to do things by halves, I picked out a few hand tools and a shoulder of leather online along with a leather workers manual. My goodies arrived, an awful lot of Youtube tutorials were watched and verrrrrry slowly my first hand stitched satchel was born. I was completely hooked and my proud bag attracted a lot of attention.
