Alan Steinhart

With 40 years of receivable management industry experience, Al's primary role is to oversee the management of clients and new business development in ABC-Amega's Eastern region. He maintains direct sales responsibilities with key accounts, and travels widely to facilitate the company's growth. Additionally, Al acts as ABC-Amega's liaison for a number of industry associations, including FCIB, ICTF, NACM and the Credit Research Foundation. Al joined ABC-Amega in 1983 (back when he still had hair), and has held various positions in sales and operations. He has remained a consistent driver of strategies focused on maintaining the company's current client base and cultivating new business opportunities. Al holds a Political Science degree from SUNY Fredonia, and spends his free time playing golf and tennis.

Beth Stair

Beth oversees ABC-Amega's finance team and facilitates the financial processes of the company, including budgeting and forecasting, preparing and issuing financial statements, and payment processing. In this role, she works closely with the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer to strengthen the financial position of the organization. Prior to joining ABC-Amega in 2021, Beth was the Director of Financial Reporting at Tops Markets, where she spent over 12 years. Her experience also includes Accounting positions in the Baltimore area in the non-profit, consumer products, and media industries. Beth earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Pennsylvania State University. She resides in Lancaster, NY with her husband Shaun and their two children. Outside of the office, when she isn't busy cheering on her kids in swimming and baseball, you can find her curled up with a good book.

Dan Pike

In his role as the Divisional Vice President of ABC-Amega's credit services, Dan oversees the management and operations of the company's credit groups, credit interchange database, conference and meeting coordination, and educational planning. He is responsible for the growth and service enhancement of ABC's credit service offerings, including the development of new industry groups. Dan joined ABC-Amega in 2020 as the Director of Motor Credit Services, where he facilitated the development and management of ABCD Motor Credit Group, the Aftermarket Suppliers Credit Group (ASCG), and the Marine Accessory Manufacturers Credit Association (MAMCA). Prior to joining ABC-Amega, Dan earned a degree in economics from Elon University and began his professional career in commercial insurance and business planning. In 1992, he transitioned to the financial services division of a motor vehicle industry trade association, where he spent 28 years. During this time, Dan was responsible for the administration and facilitation of five credit discussion groups in various segments of the motor vehicle industry. He developed this role to include working as an advisor for General Unsecured Creditors' Committees as well as serving as a bankruptcy distribution agent and Trustee. Dan resides in Cary, North Carolina with his wife, Joy and their four-legged companion, Murphy. When he's not working or traveling to support ABC-Amega's credit groups, you might find Dan at a the Cary Downtown Farmers Market where he serves as Board president, working in his yard or volunteering in his community.

David I. Herer

As a Strategic Advisor for ABC-Amega, David works closely with the executive team in setting the company's long-term vision, strategy and corporate objectives. He served as ABC-Amega's Chief Executive Officer for 23 years before the company was acquired by Trivest Partners in 2023. David joined ABC-Amega as Vice President and Counsel in 1982, was promoted to President in 1990, and subsequently named CEO in 2000. His leadership was instrumental in the company achieving the distinction of being the only private receivable management firm honored with the U.S. President's "E Star" Award for excellence in foreign trade service and marketing. David earned his Juris Doctor degree from the National Law Center of George Washington University after completing a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from the University of Rochester. Residing in the City of Buffalo with his wife Eva, David spends his free time enjoying yoga, traveling, taking the family dogs on long walks, and cheering on Tottenham Hotspur Football Club.

Domenic Di Loreto

Domenic works with his talented sales team colleagues to manage client sales and service efforts throughout North America. This includes client retention and new business development for companies, in various industries, that can benefit from ABC's services. As a department manager, he is also a member of ABC-Amega's Leadership Team and feels very fortunate to collaborate with the all other department managers in an effort to further advance ABC-Amega's culture, vision and strategic goals. Domenic started at ABC-Amega in 2000, and holds 20 years of credit industry experience. Prior to joining the company, he worked in the banking industry as a commercial lending officer for 17 years. Domenic earned a BS in Management and Finance from Canisius College.

Edward O'Keefe

Ed is responsible for managing the development and maintenance of applications at ABC-Amega, in particular the company's SoftCall® first-party outsourcing service, ABC-Collect, client portals, and internal reporting programs. Ed joined ABC-Amega in 2014 as a Software Developer and has 20 years of receivables management industry experience. He attended Buffalo State College studying Computer Information Systems prior to beginning his career in computer sciences. Ed is also a graduate of Leadership Buffalo's 2020 class. Ed resides in Hamburg, NY with his wife Meagan and their three children, and enjoys spending his time outside of work making his own beer, bowling, and playing pinball.

Jason Szwed

Jason is responsible for overseeing the company's strategy, policies, and procedures for client service and client experience, working in collaboration across all departments, and directing client services team members in client and company objectives. Jason joined ABC-Amega's Business Development team in 2007. He has earned a number of promotions and departmental experience over the years, including leadership roles in Marketing and in Operations for the company's First-Party Outsourcing division. Most recently, Jason served as Vice President of Global Outsourcing. Prior to coming ABC-Amega, Jason held positions at Exigence LLC, RSA Mortgage Solutions, Inc., and Fiserv (formerly Remarketing Services of America). He holds a BS in Business Administration and an MBA with concentration in Strategic Management, both from Medaille College in Buffalo. Residing in West Seneca, NY with his wife Angela and their son, Jason spends his free time camping, hiking, exercising, and traveling as much as possible.

John Fisher - CEO

John serves and was appointed as Chief Executive Officer of ABC-Amega in June 2023. He brings more than 25 years of experience in operations strategy, financial and business development, and leadership to this new role. John also serves as the CEO of BII Services Corporation, a commercial order-to-cash solutions company. At ABC-Amega, John is responsible for overseeing the company's integration into BII, ABC-Amega's new parent organization, its long-term vision, strategy, and corporate growth objectives. Prior to BII, John served as President of Altisource Portfolio Solutions' financial services division, which was focused on accounts receivable management, customer relationship management, and BPO services. John's previous work experience includes time as Senior Vice President for 1st Party Services for West Asset Management, Managing Director for Triton Management Services, a private equity consulting practice, Director, Business Development for Broadpoint, a media and e-commerce company, and finance roles at Procter & Gamble. John earned an MBA from Cornell University and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from St. John Fisher College. He currently resides in Long Island, NY with his wife Jeannie. When he's not making privately-owned companies stronger, John enjoys the occasional round of golf, ski biking, and traveling with his wife.

Kris Doran

Krista Glenn - CMO

With over 20 years of marketing experience, Krista leads ABC-Amega's corporate branding, marketing and communication efforts. She oversees the company's marketing team who is responsible for content creation, social media, event planning, market intelligence and graphic design initiatives. She works closely with ABC's business development team to assist with lead generation, managing RFPs, proposals and presentations, and the company's client service department to further their goals and objectives. Before joining ABC-Amega in 2013, Krista spent 10 years as the marketing manager for Buffalo Lodging Associates, the hotel division of Benderson Development. Her previous experience includes roles in media sales and promotions; and she also worked for 8 years as a certified group fitness instructor. Krista earned an MBA from Canisius College and a bachelor's degree in Business Management from the University at Buffalo. When she's not at her desk, you might find Krista working out during her lunch break. Outside of work, she applies her marketing talents to her husband's automotive repair business and is a busy mom of two.

Melinda Cristler - CHRO

Melinda is responsible for leading and directing the Human Resources function for ABC-Amega, playing an integral role in people management and executing the company's human resource and talent strategies. In 2020, she was instrumental in ABC-Amega's transition to working from home and in developing our New York State Business Reopening Safety Plan. During this time she also led and oversaw the implementation of our new Human Resource Information System. Since joining ABC-Amega as a Human Resource Generalist in 2014, Melinda has been promoted multiple times and she currently leads the company's HR team in her role as Director of Human Resources. Her previous experience in HR includes assistant and intern work at another collection agency in Buffalo. Melinda earned both a Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Business Administration from University at Buffalo; and she's a 2019 graduate of Leadership Buffalo's Rising Leaders program. She also earned Senior Certified Professional credentials from the Society for Human Resources Management in July 2020. Melinda is married and resides in Batavia, NY with her husband Dan and cat Mini. Outside of work, Melinda enjoys playing cards and board games with friends and family. She also spends her free time gardening.

With more than 45 years of service at ABC-Amega, Mike is responsible for developing the company's first technology platforms and computer-based systems. His earliest contributions include ABC's first automated credit interchange system in 1976 and it's first online system in 1989. In 1990, Mike was instrumental in developing ABC-Amega's initial web-based third-party collections system and its first business financials and budgeting system. The company's first-party receivables management system launched in 1992 through the groundwork he laid out. Currently, Mike is responsible for the operational performance and continual enhancement of GoAmega, the online credit interchange reporting system for ABC-Amega's Credit Services division. Mike also manages a number of ABC's credit groups, including NCCA, PDG and PGI, providing outstanding customer service to group members and executive boards. In addition to an extensive technical background and training in platforms, tools, networking, programming, databases and telecommunications, Mike holds a BA in Information Systems from SUNY Empire State College in Buffalo, NY and is a Certified Data Processer (CDP) by the Institute For Certified Computing Professionals (ICCP). During the summer months in the Buffalo area, Mike enjoys slalom waterskiing. As he's quipped, "There's nothing quite like it. It tires you out, but keeps you cool at the same time."

Michele Gerst

As Vice President of Global Operations, Michele oversees ABC-Amega's Third-Party Collections and First-Party Outsourcing departments. Her focus is to ensure ABC-Amega's staff and processes are aligned to maximize results for our clients. Her areas of responsibility also include overseeing ABC's Global Support and Quality Assurance & Training departments. Michele joined ABC-Amega in 2016 as Director of First-Party Outsourcing and has continued to apply her operational experience to her expanded role. Outside of her experience working in the receivables management industry, Michele spent more than 25 years in financial services management and operations, including time as the Director of Operations at Fiserv Lending Solutions and as Vice President of Direct Banking at HSBC Bank. She earned a bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Management from Medaille College. Michele resides in Buffalo with her husband Patrick and enjoys spending free time with friends, family and spending time outdoors.

Paul F. Catalano - President

As an executive team member with more than 35 years of industry experience, Paul's focus is optimizing the client experience. His business instincts and financial knowledge have been a driving force behind the development of ABC-Amega's national and international accounts. He has helped add noted Fortune 500 companies to the company's extensive list of satisfied clients. Paul began his tenure with ABC-Amega as a Customer Relations Representative and Director of Credit Interchange Groups. He was subsequently awarded a series of promotions, including Director of Marketing, Vice President of Marketing, Vice President of Sales and Marketing, and Executive Vice President. Paul's accessibility and common-sense approach have assisted ABC-Amega in forging lasting relationships with many leading companies in the US and abroad. Before joining ABC-Amega, he spent time as a financial manager for Burroughs Corporation (now Unisys). Paul holds a BA in Economics from the University of Buffalo. Paul has been an active supporter of numerous charity and community organizations, including Families of SMA (Spinal Muscular Atrophy), UB's Department of Economics, Buffalo State College's strategic council for the Television and Film Arts Program, and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of WNY, where he was a board member for many years and was awarded for his dedicated service. He currently serves as a member of the CRF (Credit Research Foundation) Board of Trustees and is a member of the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) of Lakewood Ranch, Florida. Paul works out of the Florida office and resides in Sarasota with his wife, Sharon. His son Torre is a film producer, director, and writer who is based in Los Angeles, and daughter Angelica is Partner Success Director at Stacker.

Robert (Bob) Tharnish

As a senior professional with ABC-Amega, Bob manages global collections for key clients. He is also responsible for monitoring the performance of our worldwide affiliate attorney network of more than 300 legal affiliates spanning over 150 countries. Bob holds membership with the Commercial Law League of America (CLLA) and currently serves on the International Association of Commercial Collectors' (IACC) board of directors. Bob began his career at ABC-Amega in 1978, and has held various positions within the organization. He has given numerous industry-related presentations, including a series of lectures on "Credit and Collections in the U.S." for the British Department of Trade & Industry. He received a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the University of Georgia's Columbus College. As a veteran of the U.S. Army's Military Intelligence Branch, his interrogation skills helped pave the way for his successful career in collections. Bob resides in Elma, NY with his wife Miriam Lou, and enjoys fishing, leatherworking, and playing the guitar in his time outside of work.

Robert M. States - CFO

A CPA with more than 35 years of financial services experience, Bob States oversees multiple areas of the company's finance and accounting functions, in addition to corporate planning and technology resources. He works with the executive team and department managers to assess and improve financial and operational performance throughout the organization. His role is critical to ABC-Amega's strategy for sustained performance and aggressive growth. Prior to joining ABC-Amega in 2011, Bob effectively served the company in a consulting capacity. He is a former CFO for Liazon Corporation, a Buffalo-based provider of online health insurance services, and Chief Operating Officer for COPC Inc., a leading authority on customer contact center and vendor management operations. He was issued a patent in 2012 (US 8,219,420). Bob was named to Business First's 2019 list of C-Level Executives, which recognizes Western New York's most effective business leaders. He began his career in finance as an accountant for industry leader KPMG. Bob holds an MBA in Finance and Accounting from St. Bonaventure University; and serves on the Board of Directors for SABAH (Spirited Athletes Bold at Heart) as Treasurer. Residing in East Amherst, NY with his wife Stephanie, Bob is an avid runner, having completed three marathons and six half marathons. For several years, he and his wife have volunteered and served on the board for Brother's Keeper Outreach, a Western New York food pantry and clothing ministry, where Bob also held the role of Chairperson from 2020 - 2023.

A customer service veteran with more than 40 years of experience, Tom has spent the past 17 years in commercial collections and has been with ABC-Amega since 2003. His previous experience in call center operations includes senior management positions in the cable/satellite industry in Buffalo, Las Vegas, and Philadelphia. Tom is married and resides in suburban Buffalo. He and his wife Lynn have three grown children and three granddaughters. In their spare time, Tom and his wife enjoy traveling and ‘fixer-upper' projects.
