SHELLEY OAKS FARM

‘Shelley Oaks' is an 80 acre farm on the edge of the New Forest in Hampshire. We took on the tenancy in April 2016 and are currently undertaking a mammoth task to re-establish the meadow grasslands and renovate the farm buildings. We have managed a flock of pedigree Jacob sheep for a few years and their number grows each Spring. They produce tasty lean meat which we offer for sale in ‘meat boxes', wool for spinning and beautiful sheep skins. We also produce excellent quality hay in small bales. Our endeavour is to establish ‘Shelley Oaks' as a working mixed farm in a welfare conscious, environmentally friendly way... We produce the majority of our meat as ‘Hogget'. These are grass fed, slow maturing sheep in their second year. They give a lean meat with a deeper flavour than lamb whilst maintaining lamb-like tenderness.
