DP World Southampton (DPWS) is the joint-venture company owned by DP World (51%) and Associated British Ports (49%). DPWS manages the existing container terminal in Southampton and will take over the operation of the new berth SCT5 and quay cranes at the end of 2013. The long-standing relationship between ABP and DP World (and its predecessors) dates back to the 1970s although the current shareholding structure in Southampton Container Terminals Ltd was established in 1988.
