Clinically, she is interested in working with adolescents presenting with depression, anxiety, psychosis, and trauma, and for whom suicide-specific interventions are a core aspect of treatment. Dr. Arango is a member of the Youth Depression and Suicide Prevention Research Program. Amy is a Research Area Specialist with University of Michigan's Department of Psychiatry, supporting Dr. Kara Zivin's research. Amy began working with Michigan Medicine in 2016 managing Phase 1 oncology clinical trials with CTSO. She joined the Department of Psychiatry in 2022 and currently manages several of Dr. Zivin's NIH funded studies on perinatal mood and anxiety disorders as well as her state Medicaid projects. Amy holds a master's degree in theology from Western Theological Seminary and a bachelor's degree in biology from Hope College. She loves being a mom, a regenerative farmer, a dairy goat herder, and an outdoor enthusiast. To recharge, Amy spends her time distance running, reading, gardening, and connecting with friends.
Anca has worked at the University of Michigan since 2007 and joined the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology in 2018 as the data and statistics manager. Within this role, Anca leads the department statistical team and various research projects for the department. Her expertise is in management and maintenance of large-scale administrative databases and generating statistical analytical files for statisticians. She is an expert SAS user, and her favorite past time is generating specific and unusual graphics using SAS. She holds a bachelor's degree in Mathematics from Eastern Michigan University and a master's degree in Biostatistics from the University of Michigan. She lives in Ann Arbor and is a huge foodie and fashion-lover. Anca has travelled the world to dine at several # 1 ranked restaurants in the world. In her spare time Anca enjoys long walks, video games, and detective novels.
Andrea is a Statistician Intermediate with the University of Michigan Obstetrics and Gynecology Department. She began working at Michigan Medicine in 2022, where she is part of the data analytic team for Dr. Zivin's NIH funded studies. She holds a bachelor's degree in Psychology and Kinesiology from Michigan State University and a master's degree in Biostatistics from the University of Michigan School of Public Health. In her free time, Andrea enjoys listening to music, attending concerts, and being active.

Bruno Giordani, Ph.D., professor with the department, and his colleague Michael Boivin, Ph.D., professor of psychiatry at Michigan State University and adjunct professor in the U-M Department of Psychiatry, have been collaborating for over 25 years all over the world. They have worked in the U.S., Africa, in southeast Asia, and beyond. They have addressed topics such as the effect of lead exposure in children; the role that the environment, nutrition, home setting, and intestinal parasites play in the development of behavior and cognitive abilities; as well as how to effectively measure these factors in cross-cultural and low resource settings, including the use of newer approaches such as eye tracking and hand held, portable EEG systems.

Cortney Sera joined the Depression Center in 2019. She is the Clinical Research Manager for Sagar Parikh, MD, and the Mood Disorders Lab. She oversees several clinical trials and research projects investigating interventional psychiatric treatments and novel interventions for unipolar and bipolar depression. In her role, she collaborates with faculty, staff, sponsors, and regulatory affairs and manages the team. She also administers research assessments, conducts research interviews, manages data, and assists with data analysis. Her research interests include the relationship between emotion and cognition in mood disorders and their influence on clinical outcomes. Cortney received her BS in Brain, Behavior, and Cognitive Science with Honors from the University of Michigan and her MA in Clinical Psychology from Columbia University. She hopes to pursue a PhD in Clinical Psychology in the near future.

Dena Bazzi is an aspiring psychiatrist currently in her medical school training at Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. Erica Vest, LMSW graduated from Michigan State University with a BA in Psychology in 2010 and received her master's in social work in 2013. Stephan F. Taylor, M.D., is Professor of Psychiatry and adjunct Professor of Psychology at the University of Michigan. He also serves as co-associate for Research and Research Regulatory Affairs in the Department of Psychiatry. He directs the Program for Risk Evaluation and Prevention. His research uses brain imaging, brain stimulation and behavioral techniques to study psychosis, particularly early psychosis, and to develop and improve treatments for psychiatric disorders.
Stephanie is a Postdoctoral Fellow in the University of Michigan Department of Psychiatry. Her research explores how social determinants and health policy shape clinical care and health outcomes. Her research interests include maternal mental health, health infrastructure, and policy/program evaluation. She completed her PhD in the University of Michigan Department of Learning Health Sciences, where her dissertation analyzed perinatal mood and anxiety disorder diagnosis and treatment rates among Michigan Medicaid enrollees.
