Fiona qualified from the University of Liverpool in 2006 and has developed an interest in internal medicine and imaging in her time in general practice. In 2016, she was awarded the RCVS certificate in advanced veterinary practice in the area of Small Animal Medicine. Fiona joined the referral team at Lime Trees in 2023 to focus on pursuing her passion for investigating more challenging medical cases. Outside of work, Fiona is kept busy with her two small children and her Bengal cat, Stacey. She enjoys open water swimming, cycling and walking.

Gemma qualified as a Veterinary Nurse in 2010 whilst working at a busy primary care practice in the Midlands. Gemma Joined the team at Lime Trees in 2016. Gemma is part of the referral medicine team, enabling her to be involved in the challenges of complex medical cases, an interest that developed whilst working at Lime Trees Vets. She is currently completing a certificate in small animal medicine. Outside of work Gemma loves to travel, having recently spent 2 weeks trekking the Himalayan mountains to Everest Basecamp. When not travelling, Gemma can be found hiking the UK countryside with her French bulldog, Arnie. Or simply snuggled up on the sofa watching Netflix with her dog and rescue cat, Finley.

He studied for and achieved his Certificate in Small Animal Medicine (CertSAM) in 2005. He has a specialist interest in internal medicine and accepts referrals both from within the practice and from neighbouring veterinary practices. Hywel has been accredited by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons as an Advanced Practitioner in Small Animal Medicine. He is one of only 69 in the UK.

Jodie started studying towards a post graduate certificate in feline medicine in 2021 and in 2022 was awarded a General Practitioners Certificate in Feline Practice and a Post Graduate Certificate in Feline Veterinary Studies. In May 2023, the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons recognised Jodie as an Advanced Practitioner in Feline Medicine. Since October 2021 Jodie has been our Head Cat Vet at our Cat only branch practice. Jodie enjoys seeing all feline medicine cases but has a keen interest in endocrine, renal and respiratory medicine.

Rachel qualified from The Royal Veterinary College in 2007 and enjoyed 14 years in general practice. In 2013 Rachel started to study towards a postgraduate qualification in Small Animal Medicine and in 2018 was awarded a masters level certificate in advanced veterinary practice. In September 2019, after completing a further synoptic exam, this certificate was designated in the area of Small Animal Medicine. In January 2022, the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons recognised Rachel as an Advanced Practitioner in Small Animal Medicine. Rachel joined our medicine referral team in July 2021. Rachel enjoys the challenge of complicated internal medicine cases and has a keen interest in diagnostic imaging, especially abdominal ultrasound. In her spare time, Rachel enjoys adventures in the countryside with her spirited horse, Skye or climbing the peaks of the Shropshire hills with her energetic Labrador, Dill. She is also a keen wild swimmer, and can often be found splashing in Shropshire lakes or on the Welsh coast! When not out causing mischief in the great outdoors, Rachel will be snuggled up on the sofa attempting to read a good book or catch up on the latest Netflix series. Her two cats, Freddie and Ernie usually have other ideas however and take great joy in sitting on said book or in front of the TV!

Sarah Ambler

Sarah graduated from the Royal Veterinary College, University of London in 1988 with a degree in Veterinary Medicine. She gained a Certificate in Veterinary Dermatology, awarded by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons, in 1995. She is an RCVS Advanced Practitioner in Veterinary Dermatology. Sarah worked at the University of Nottingham Veterinary School whilst providing a mobile dermatology referral service to our veterinary hospital. Sarah sees cases at Lime Trees Veterinary Hospital on a regular basis. Her specialist interests are all types of skin disease including alopecia, allergies, pruritus, ear, foot and nail disease, recurrent pyoderma. Sarah regularly performs intradermal skin testing, which is considered the gold standard for determining the cause of skin allergies in dogs.
