Tony is well into his second decade of anaesthetising for all types of Orthopaedic surgery. These can be highly complex operations and include spinal deformity/scoliosis straightening, revision joint surgery (replacing a damaged or infected joint replacement) and bone cancer surgery. He has a special interest in post-op pain relief using nerve blocks of the upper and lower limbs, and has presented his findings in ultrasound guided regional anaesthesia at international meetings.

Chris joined the Board in 2022 as an experienced NHS Non-Executive Director. She is a Registered Nurse with a career spanning circa 40 years in NHS. She has held a number of senior provider roles gaining extensive experience in Quality Governance, Strategic Development and Partnerships.
She is a former Director of Primary Care and Director of Commissioning for South Birmingham where she also held joint posts with the Local Authority.
In addition, she has gained significant experience and expertise having led delivery of a number of major transformation programmes including complex reconfiguration of acute and community services across trusts and across health economies, to achieve clinical sustainability including clinical standards.
Chris has a particular interest in improving patients experience and voice and in reducing health inequalities.
At ROH, Dr Sid regularly provides anaesthesia for primary and revision arthroplasties and major spinal procedures. He has specialist interest in regional anaesthesia and anaesthesia for major spinal procedures, as well as promoting blood conservation strategies and enhanced recovery programme in orthopaedic procedures.
Dr da Silva's practice extends between Perioperative medicine, Anaesthesia and Level 2 Critical Care cover. In his perioperative medical role, he runs a weekly all-day high risk clinic. This clinic reviews patients deemed high risk for anaesthesia or surgery or patients with complex medical backgrounds.
Dr da Silva continues to provide anaesthesia for adult and paediatric patients undergoing Spinal, Orthopaedic, Interventional Radiology and Orthopaedic Oncology procedures.
He obtained Fellowship from the Royal College of Anaesthetists in 2003 then completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Education of Health professional in 2007 at the University of Birmingham. He was admitted onto the Specialist Register of the General Medical Council in March 2007. He completed a Fellowship in Neurocritical care/ Neuroanaesthesia, Cambridge in 2007.
In late 2007, he took up a Consultant post at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital, Birmingham. In 2012, Dr da Silva was admitted as a council member of the British Society of Orthopaedic Anaesthetists (BSOA). He held the position of Clinical Director for the Department of Anaesthetics and Critical care from 2014-2016, at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital (ROHFT).
He resigned the Clinical director post when was elected onto the Executive Committee as the Treasurer for the BSOA in 2016. He practices privately in the above specialties as well provides anaesthesia for common specialties e.g. cardiology and oculoplastic/plastic surgery. He continues to advise clinical improvement processes locally at the ROHFT and nationally through the BSOA.

Dr Nyangoni completed his anaesthetic training on the Welsh Rotation and proceeded to do a fellowship in Derby. His interests are pre- and post-operative optimisation of the high risk surgical patient, Regional Anaesthesia and Difficult Airway Management.

Dr Minhas has trained in the UK and Australia and is involved in adult and paediatric patient care. Her particular interests lie in perioperative medicine and clinical leadership.

Dr Rea qualified from University of London in 1996 and undertook anaesthetic training in Birmingham. He worked as a Consultant both at University Hospitals, Bristol and at University College Hospital, London before being appointed as an Anaesthetic Consultant at the University Hospital, Birmingham and the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital in 2014.
He provides anaesthetic services for all types of surgery at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital and currently has regular commitments to Oncology/Reconstruction, Spinal and Arthroplasty surgeries. He has interests in medicines management and patient safety.
