Adam L.K. Philipp - Founder

The Founder of ÆON Law, Adam Philipp is also the head of the patent department at ÆON Law. Adam has been involved in the prosecution of patent applications in the computer science, electrical devices, consumer products and related fields since 1998 and with Internet and technology related law since 1995. He also counsels clients on intellectual property portfolio strategies and infringement matters. His varied practical experiences range from distributed object oriented programming to kernel-level memory management. His area of emphasis covers a wide variety of patent, trademark and trade secret issues, with particular focus on network and security related applications. Typical clients of Mr. Philipp's are software and technology companies as well as related inventors. Mr. Philipp speaks fluent Hebrew and basic Japanese. He and his family live in the Seattle area. David V.H. Cohen

David Cohen is an experienced attorney in patent prosecution and IP transactions who joined the AEON Law team in October 2017. He helps clients develop and implement their IP strategy by securing legal protection for their inventions, advising on intellectual property portfolio assets, and concluding deals that turn innovation into revenue. His background includes a decade and a half of experience in patent prosecution and copyright transactions.

James Namiki

In over 20 years of practicing intellectual property law, James Namiki has assisted clients in a wide variety of intellectual property (IP) matters including developing IP portfolios related to both patents and trademarks. He has represented a wide range of clients from solo inventors and individual entrepreneurs to large international companies. As for James' patent practice, James has successfully obtained patents related to mechanical devices and systems, integrated circuits, chip fabrication, optical systems, microprocessor design, software, social networking, artificial intelligence, augmented reality systems, mobile applications, chemical processes, and wireless networks. James began his legal career at a large Washington, D.C. law firm where he was involved in the prosecution of patent applications and litigation matters. Prior to joining AEON Law, James developed and managed patent portfolios for the Invention Science Fund of Intellectual Ventures before moving on to run his own solo practice law firm. Jonathan Olson

In his 19 years practicing intellectual property law, Jonathan Olson has participated in various due diligence studies, product clearance and other opinion letters, portfolio analysis, foreign patent prosecution, license negotiations, assertions of trade secret rights, patent litigation support, and trademark prosecution. He created potent and extensive portfolios in data processing, drone control, electrical communications, information security and storage, multiplex communications, telecom, and medical devices. He has written patent applications for Bill Gates, Paul Allen, Nathan Myhrvold, and many other prominent Seattle-area inventors. Jonathan's work has provided leverage in numerous licensing negotiations and litigation contexts. Before joining ÆON Law, Jonathan worked served in many IP-related roles for Intellectual Ventures®, Seagate Technology®, and Honeywell®. Jonathan also held various engineering positions for a semiconductor manufacturer in Minnesota. He also taught English in Japan. Kyle Flindt

A polymath of sorts, Kyle Flindt is an electrical & computer engineer, German language enthusiast, and entrepreneurial Intellectual Property specialist. As a registered patent attorney with the United States Patent & Trademark Office, Kyle has prepared and prosecuted both domestic and foreign patent applications for a variety of software, network, wireless, semiconductor, electrical, medical, and electro-mechanical devices. A former president of the MIT Enterprise Forum of the Northwest and popular educational presenter on Software Entrepreneurship, Kyle enjoys counseling entrepreneurial clients on intellectual property portfolio strategies that include a select focused combination of patent, trademark, and copyright registrations. Mary Prior

Mary is an experienced paralegal in patent prosecution for more than 16 years and joined the AEON Law Team in November 2019. With Gunn, Lee & Miller in San Antonio for five years, she was the sole paralegal dealing with foreign applications, working with consulates, foreign associates, and clients to ensure proper filing of all documents. She also handled U.S. matters. With Christensen O'Connor Johnson Kindness for 11 years, she worked for multiple attorneys working in mechanical, electrical, and computer engineering and software applications and chemical, medical, and biomedical patents. She also worked with trademark and copyright attorneys, dealing with searches and filing copyrights, and responding to office actions. Mary also filed her own copyright in the library of Congress for a book of poetry, and for her son-in-law, obtained his first music copyright. In addition to the IP experience, Mary has also worked with estate planning, bankruptcy, civil litigation, employment law, and financial law. Mary was also a Yeoman Chief Petty Officer with the Naval Reserve for 23 years, both as a Yeoman and as a Photo Intelligence Specialist. Although she was incorrectly assigned to a carrier group before women were legally allowed, during Desert Storm, she went with her unit, but ended up working on North Island with the Admiral's staff as she was not allowed on the carrier. Mary does volunteer work as well, as an author, editor, and photographer for various newsletters. She administered a national tri-level scholarship program for more than 13 years and has been an active member of Mensa for more than 40 years. She is certified as a SOAR peer support volunteer for the Phoenix Society and has spoken at a Donate Life! event. She also runs the green room for her daughter's OrcaCon table-top gaming convention that specializes in diversity and inclusion. Philip P. Mann

Philip P. Mann is a trial lawyer with over twenty years' experience litigating patent, trademark, trade secret, and other intellectual property matters throughout the country. Mann's trial work has taken him to various federal and state courts where he's tried both cases to the court (a judge) as well as before juries. In addition to trial court work, Mann has performed appellate work before the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. Mann began his legal career in Chicago and Milwaukee before heading to Seattle where some of America's most innovative companies were developing new technologies at breakneck speed. Before founding his own firm, he was a member of the Seattle Intellectual Property Law Firm, Christensen O'Connor Johnson Kindness. Shan Liao

Prior to joining AEON Law, Shan was in-house patent counsel for a local technology startup company. Her in-house and law firm experience can help clients understand the impacts of patent law on their businesses and achieve effective and practical solutions to their intellectual property disputes. Yan (Regina) Song

Regina Song, a young attorney, explores her enjoyment of the IP world at AEON Law after beginning her IP journey during law school. In 2015, Regina assisted Professor Randall R. Rader (former Chief Judge of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit) with the draft of the Teachers' Manual of his co-authored Cases and Materials on Patent Law (4th Edition). In 2016, Regina and her teammates-the only team from mainland China-were invited to the University of Oxford to participate in the oral proceedings of the international IP Moot Court. Regina focuses her interest on trademark, copyright, and IP litigation. In her spare time, Regina likes to sing and play the piano. She has released two original music works that are available here.
