Frederick J. Seymour

Frederick J. Seymour's ("Fred") practice focuses in the field of trusts and estates, including estate planning, probate and trust administration, as well as serving as a fiduciary in trusts, estates and conservatorships. Since 2000, Fred has also served as a private mediator in disputes involving trusts and estates. From 1977 through 1979, Fred was a Deputy City Attorney for the City of Los Angeles during which he served as lead trial counsel in more than 100 jury trials. In 1979, he became one of the two founding partners in the firm of Augustine and Seymour along with Michael R. Augustine, who he originally met as they began their elementary school education in 1953. Fred is a member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association and served as a Trustee of the Association in 1996-1997. Fred has served multiple terms on the Executive Committee of the Probate and Trust Law Section of the Los Angeles County Bar Association. He has served as a Mediator for the Los Angeles Superior Court, Probate Department; as Judge Pro Tempore for the Alhambra Municipal Court; and as Chairman of the Civil Service Commission for the City of San Gabriel. Fred received a B.A. in Political Science from Loyola University, Los Angeles in 1970 and a J.D. from Glendale College of Law in 1976. Fred enjoys an AV Rating with Martindale-Hubbell. He has presented continuing education classes on probate procedure and proper preparation for mediations.

Michael R. Augustine

Michael R. Augustine ("Mike") focuses his practice on all aspects of trusts and estates law, including fiduciary work, estate planning, administration and estate and trust litigation. Mike has extensive litigation experience and has participated in over 250 trials relating to probate estate and trust disputes and multiple jury trials. Mike currently serves as a court appointed independent fiduciary in a number of matters where he manages assets in excess of $60 million dollars including serving as a conservator of the estate and administrator of the late actor Mickey Rooney. Mike's other representative matters include the Gene Kelly Image Trust. In addition, Mike is often retained and has qualified as an expert witness in fiduciary litigation matters in Los Angeles, Orange and San Luis Obispo Counties. Mr. Augustine graduated from the University of California at Irvine in 1970 and Loyola University of Los Angeles School of Law in 1973. After graduating from law school, Mike opened his own practice in Montebello in 1973 and continued as a general practitioner until 1979 when he joined with Frederick J. Seymour to open the practice of Augustine and Seymour. Mike is actively involved in the community and has received a lifetime community college teaching credential and has taught in paralegal programs for over 12 years. Mike is also the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the TS Alliance Endowment Fund, a non-profit organization. Mike has been named a Southern California Super Lawyer by Super Lawyer Magazine and holds AV rating by Martindale-Hubbell. In his free time, Mr. Augustine enjoys white water rafting with his two daughters, reading, serving as a gourmet chef to his family, and gardening.
