Hugh Gloster

Dr. Gloster comes to Associates in Dermatology from the University of Cincinnati where he was a Professor of Dermatology and Director of Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Dermatologic Oncology. Dr. Gloster's primary areas of expertise are cutaneous oncology, Mohs Micrographic Surgery, and reconstruction. Dr. Gloster is board certified in Dermatology and Micrographic Dermatologic Surgery. Dr. Gloster has 30 years of experience and his clinical practice provides comprehensive evaluation of patients with skin cancer and the treatment of any complex surgical issue involving hair, nails, and skin. Dr. Gloster is a member of numerous local and national committees, has lectured nationally and internationally, has written numerous publications in peer reviewed journals, participates on editorial review boards of respected dermatologic journals, and has co-authored and edited two medical text books which have been distributed nationally and internationally. In 2016 and 2017, Dr. Gloster received the Patient Experience Excellence Award, which is given to the top 10% of over 200,000 providers in the Press Gainey national database for patient experience with clinic visits.

John Jackson

Board-certified dermatologist John Jackson, MD, FAAD, is a skin cancer specialist with more than 15 years of experience. In his work at Associates in Dermatology, Dr. Jackson specializes in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of skin cancer in the practice's Fort Myers, Cape Coral, and Punta Gorda, Florida, offices. Dr. Jackson is a Cape Coral native. He was originally a firefighter and emergency medical technician (EMT), which fueled his deep love for medicine and serving others. He returned to college to complete his undergraduate degree at the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida. Then, Dr. Jackson joined the United States Navy. He completed medical school at Uniformed Services University, the US military's highly renowned medical school in Bethesda, Maryland. He completed his internship at Naval Medical Center San Diego in San Diego, California. For the next four years, Dr. Jackson served as a flight surgeon, caring for aircrews and pilots worldwide. Dr. Jackson then completed his dermatology residency at the Naval Medical Center San Diego. Alongside his work at Associates in Dermatology, Dr. Jackson is passionate about his role as associate program director at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda. There, he's instrumental in educating medical students who are completing their dermatology residency. Dr. Jackson is the author of multiple articles and served as lead investigator in large clinical studies as well. He's known for his pleasant, professional, and empathetic approach to patient care. In his free time, Dr. Jackson enjoys family time with his wife and three daughters. He's an active volunteer coach and enthusiastic spectator for his children's sports and extracurricular events.

Scott E. Crater

Dr. Crater has been in clinical practice since 2003. He was raised in Mountain Lakes, New Jersey and Richmond, Virginia. He is the youngest of seven children. He graduated from Princeton University and the University of Virginia School Of Medicine, where he was a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society. He completed his dermatology residency at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston under the direction of Dr. Pearon Lang, past president of the American College of Mohs Surgery; Dr. Bruce Thiers, past editor-in-chief of the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology; and Dr. John Maize, Director of the Maize Center of Dermatopathology. Dr. Crater joined Associates in Dermatology in 2008 after five years of private practice in South Carolina. He was certified by the American Board of Dermatology in 2003, is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and the Florida Academy of Dermatology. He has particular interest in geriatric dermatology and cutaneous surgery. Dr. Crater employs the full range of treatments for skin cancer in seniors. Treatment can range from a two minute treatment with simple cauterization and scraping away a superficial cancer, to topical medications for superficial cancers, to simple excision for deeper lesions. Dr. Crater takes into account patient age, patient preference, the size, depth and location of the tumor, and other factors when helping a patient choose a skin cancer treatment. Not every patient needs aggressive surgery to treat their skin cancer.

Shari L. Skinner

Stanley V. Schwartz

Stanley Schwartz MD, FAAD is a renowned board-certified dermatologist who has been with Associates in Dermatology since 1987. Dr. Schwartz sees patients in our Fort Myers and Cape Coral offices. After earning his undergraduate degree in molecular biology and bio chemistry at the University of Colorado in Boulder, Colorado, Dr. Schwartz went on to earn his medical degree at Albany Medical College in Albany, New York, where he graduated with honors. He completed his internship at Montefiore Hospital and Medical Center in the Bronx New York. Dr. Schwartz did his residency at the University of Miami department of dermatology and dermatologic surgery in Miami, FL. While there he served as chief dermatology resident at both Jackson Memorial Hospital and Miami Veterans Hospital. He is certified by the American Board of Dermatology and is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. He is an active member of the Florida Society of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery. Dr. Schwartz enjoys seeing patients of all ages and takes care of a wide range of dermatologic conditions. His special areas of professional interest include the early diagnosis and treatment of melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancer. He routinely uses dermoscopy while examining patients. He is well known as a procedural dermatologist and for helping patients get the best surgical outcomes possible. He is also an expert on dangerous marine organisms.
