DEER RIDGE ANIMAL HOSPITAL - Key Persons
Bree was raised in Oak Ridge, Missouri. She is a graduate of Oak Ridge High School and Southeast Missouri State University. Bree has been employed with Deer Ridge for 14 years. She currently resides in Oak Ridge with her husband and 2 sons. Bree and her family enjoy their furry friends Grizz, Pria, Snitch, and Pebbles.
Brooke has been employed with Deer Ridge for 15 years. She lives in Jackson. In her spare time Brooke like to read, she also makes super cute dog collars which can be purchased at the clinic or from her. Brooke also enjoys spending time with her precious dog Josie.
Dr. Abby Kiefer joined our staff in September 2020. She obtained her bachelors degree in Animal Science from Mizzou and completed her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 2019.
Dr. Kiefer lives in Perryville with her husband, Dillan, their Australian Shepherd, Duke, and the newest family member a kitten, Pancake. She and her husband were both born and raised in Perryville and are members of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.
In her spare time, Dr. Kiefer enjoys putting together puzzles, cooking playing frisbee with Duke, playing soccer, hunting and fishing, traveling, and raising monarch caterpillars/butterflies.
When speaking of veterinary medicine, Dr. Kiefer states, ‘I love the constant day to day change with veterinary medicine. Every day is different and challenging but offers so many learning opportunities. I enjoy dentistry, internal medicine, anesthesia, and preventative medicine.'
Dr Fieser returned to Deer Ridge as a full-time veterinarian in September 2018. She is married to Randy Flowers and lives near Millersville with their mixed breed dog Honey and two rambunctious cats, Swiss and Gouda. She is very proud of her son, duaghter-in-law and 3 grandchildren. Dr Fieser grew up in Campbell, Mo. After high school she graduated from SEMO with a BS in Biology, obtained her MS in Biology degree from St. Louis U and went on to graduate from the University of Missouri-Columbia with her DVM in 1999. She worked as a veterinarian in the private sector for several years followed by 9 years as public health veterinarian for the USDA. Dr. Fieser says she is very glad to be back ‘home' here at Deer Ridge where she loves the staff and clients. Her hobbies include wildflower gardening, camping, target archery, reading crocheting cat toys, and babysitting her grandchildren.
Dr Daume grew up and attended high school in Jackson, MO. She attained her B.S. in Animal Science and her DVM from the University of Missouri-Columbia. She states, ‘I love the variety of working in Veterinary Medicine, you never know what is going to walk through the door each day. We obviously love to see the new cute puppies and kittens but we also love seeing a pet for it's entire life. We care for your pets as if they were our own.' She lives in north Cape County with her husband Stephen. They have two grown children, Danielle and Joshua. They also have two corgis named Dave and Dixie, and two Quarter Horses and cattle. Dr Daume attends Cape County Cowboy Church. She loves reading and scrapbooking and taking pictures of her kids and dogs.
Dr Pipkin grew up in St Louis County attending Ritenour High School. She taught school for several years at Meadow Heights and Parkview State School before attending Vet School. She got her B.S. in education at SEMO and then later attended the University of Missouri-Columbia Veterinary School.
She has a Tennessee Walking Horse named Abraham and a Golden mix named Bennie. Dr Pipkin has one sister Charlotte who lives in Springfield MO with her husband Wiliferd Lair. Dr Pipkin enjoys teaching and doing bible studies and helping the international students at SEMO University.
Jody has been a long time employee with Deer Ridge, beginning in 2002. One thing she notes about Deer Ridge is ‘We are all like family here'. Jody attending school at Oak Ridge and later attending cosmetology school. Jody splits time between working in kennels and putting her cosmetology skills to use only on pets. She has several cats, dogs, and horses. She enjoys showing her racking horses.
Jody has been employed with us for 23 years. When she began with Deer Ridge she worked Kennels and did grooming. Actually, she said she was the 'Jack of All Trades' doing whatever was needed....
Kimi came to us in July 2019 looking for some part-time work to help fill her days after retiring from her full-time job. She says she really enjoys meeting the animals and their people. Kimi is from Cape Girardeau and a graduate from SEMO. She likes to hunt, target practice and spend time with her family and friends, especially her 2 daughters and 2 grandsons. In addition, she likes to spend time with her 3 dobermans, Sniper, Xena, and Kevlar and 2 Beagles, Clover and Pickles.

She is from Cape Girardeau and says her schooling for working at Deer Ridge has been ‘on the job training'. Laura joined the Deer Ridge family in May of 2016. She started off working as a Pet Nurse in Kennels and working as a receptionist. Currently she splits time between reception and veterinarian technician although she pitches in wherever help is needed. Laura is an extremely talented artist, she is great at making tie dye shirts, drawing/painting, you name it…she even designed our new Deer Ridge Logo. Laura has 2 dogs, Isha and Fritzi and 1 cat, Nova. When she isn't working, Laura loves to hoop and twirl fire batons and she's amazing to watch. She also enjoys kayaking, mountain biking, hiking and yoga. We certainly feel lucky to have her on staff.
Terri grew up in Perryville, MO. She currently resides in Cape Girardeau with her husband, Russ. Terri has been employed with Deer Ridge Animal Hospital since 2006. Surgery tops...
Tonya became our office manager in 2015. She grew up in Daisy, MO and attended Oak Ridge R-6. She currently resides in Oak Ridge with her husband Brian where they raise beef cattle. They have 3 children and 2 grandchildren. They also have one Australian Shepherd Ellie Mae. When not working, Tonya enjoys reading, crafting, sewing, and fishing. She is a member of First Baptist Church of Oak Ridge.
