In 2023, Cecilia will become of counsel to Fletcher & Lee as she commences her retirement from the practice of law. The journey began in Portland, Oregon when Cecilia joined the law firm of Schwabe Williamson & Wyatt as an appellate lawyer. Committed to written and oral advocacy, Cecilia translated the skills she acquired as an appellate lawyer to the practice of bankruptcy and commercial law in Reno, Nevada starting in 1988. Since beginning her practice in Reno, Cecilia has had a long history of success for a diverse client base, including businesses, financial institutions, not-for-profit organizations, governmental entities and individuals. Providing cost-conscious solutions that address each client's particular needs in each case is a guiding principle of Fletcher & Lee. Cecilia has represented clients in all primary aspects of bankruptcy practice, including debtors, secured and unsecured creditors, committees and trustees in chapters 7, 11, 12 and 13. She has represented clients in bankruptcy adversary proceedings and all aspects of bankruptcy appeals, including to the United States Supreme Court. Cecilia has practiced in Nevada courts on receiverships, collection matters, evictions and other litigation related to debtor-creditor relations. She also represented businesses and individuals on general business matters. A 1980 graduate of Swarthmore College, Swarthmore, Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Arts with distinction in Biology, Cecilia received a Master of Science degree from the University of Oregon in 1982 before enrolling in Willamette College of Law in Salem, Oregon. Cecilia graduated in the top 15 percent of her class at Willamette in 1986, receiving High Papers in Ethics, Products Liability and Land Use Planning. She served as an Associate Editor of the Willamette Law Review for two years and began arguing cases while in law school to the federal and state courts in Oregon. In 2002, Cecilia was certified as a Business Bankruptcy Specialist by the American Board of Certification and has been recognized as a business bankruptcy specialist in the state of Nevada since that time. Cecilia is AV Preeminent Peer Review rated by Martindale-Hubbell. Over the years, she has been recognized by Best Lawyers' peer review as "Lawyer of the Year" in the practice area of bankruptcy and creditor debtor rights/insolvency and reorganization law and named in the Legal Elite by Nevada Business Magazine. US News & World Report has also ranked Fletcher & Lee as a Tier 1 best law firm for bankruptcy, creditor debtor rights/insolvency and reorganization law. In the 2014-2015 academic year, Cecilia joined the faculty of Willamette University College of Law as an adjunct professor of consumer and business bankruptcy law and reorganizations, a position she held for three academic years. Since 2012, Cecilia has been a member of Willamette College of Law's leadership council to the Dean of the Law School. Cecilia served on American Bankruptcy Institute's award-winning Committee on Consumer Bankruptcy Law from 2014-2018. Elizabeth Fletcher

This is very well-deserved recognition, and on behalf of Fletcher & Lee we'd like to thank everyone to voted for Elizabeth and… Elizabeth Fletcher is the managing shareholder of Fletcher & Lee, Ltd. Elizabeth primarily practices bankruptcy law and has represented clients in chapter 7, 11 and 13 cases as well as in bankruptcy adversary proceedings including but not limited to preference litigation, fraudulent conveyance actions, turnover claims, discharge objections and discharge revocation issues. Her bankruptcy clients include creditors, chapter 7 and 11 trustees and debtors. Elizabeth has extensive experience in general civil litigation matters, and also counsels and performs work on behalf of business owners on numerous issues such as forming the initial entity, drafting operating documents, limiting the liability of the individual owners and winding down a business. Elizabeth obtained an undergraduate degree in political science from the University of New Hampshire in 1994. Thereafter, Elizabeth worked in the securities industry and obtained her Series 7 & 63 licenses. She went on to attend the Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law, graduating third in her class, summa cum laude, in 2002. During law school, Elizabeth served as an Associate Editor of The Journal of Contemporary Health Law & Policy and was a member of the Students for Public Interest Law, through which she worked in a domestic violence clinic assisting victims of domestic violence obtain protective orders against their abusers. Elizabeth also acted as a research assistant to Professor Clifford Fishman and completed a legal internship with The Brady Center to Prevent Gun Violence in Washington, D.C. After graduation, Elizabeth served as a federal law clerk to the Honorable Valerie P. Cooke in the United States District Court for the District of Nevada (Reno). Elizabeth then began the practice of law as an associate in the Washington, D.C. office of Arnold & Porter, LLP. In 2006, drawn by her love of the endless outdoor activities, she permanently relocated to Reno, Nevada. Elizabeth was an associate in the Reno office of Lionel Sawyer & Collins before beginning a solo law practice in 2010. Elizabeth later joined forces with her current law partner, Cecilia. Elizabeth is licensed to practice law in Nevada, Maryland and the District of Columbia. Elizabeth has been listed on the Nevada Business Magazine's yearly list of Northern Nevada Legal Elite since 2013. In 2020, Lee High, Ltd. (now Fletcher & Lee, Ltd.) was recognized as a Tier I law firm in the Bankruptcy and Creditor Rights/Insolvency and Reorganization Law categories by U.S. News and World Report. Elizabeth has participated in numerous local community organizations including as a Board member on the Northern Nevada Women Lawyers Association and as President of the Jessie Beck Elementary School Parent Faculty Organization. After work and on weekends, you can often find Elizabeth hiking, skiing or boating on Lake Tahoe with her family, running on the ditch trail, or hanging out with her kids and two golden retriever puppies.
