Alexandra Phillips

Alexandra works in our commercial team and has a specific passion for intellectual property. Alexandra's knowledge of intellectual property, and more specifically Trade Marks, enables Alexandra to provide specialised intellectual property advice to her clients. Whether a client is brand new to the concept of protecting their intellectual property, or they are involved in a complex dispute, Alexandra communicates every aspect of the relevant law to her clients to ensure they understand their rights and obligations. In addition to Intellectual property, Alexandra has experience in a broad range of commercial matters, including taxation, transactional matters, and disputes. Alexandra's knowledge, and her ability to communicate realistic outcomes for her clients, means that our clients receive robust and consistent advice. Since joining the Fletcher Clarendon team in 2021, Alexandra has built strong relationships with clients and has had the pleasure to assist a range of clients in their legal matters. Alexandra holds a Juris Doctor and Bachelor of Music. She was admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of Victoria in 2020.

Ann-Maree Ventura

Ann-Maree is experienced in a range of commercial, intellectual property, taxation and superannuation matters. Her broad range of commercial skills coupled with specialist taxation knowledge enables her to provide commercial advice, whilst ensuring that any resulting income tax implications are duly considered. Ann-Maree has extensive experience in the not for profit sector both with establishing appropriate legal entity structures, obtaining registration of charitable status and seeking endorsements and concessions from the Australian Taxation Office. Ann-Maree holds a Juris Doctor, Master of Taxation and Bachelor of Business (Accounting). She is a fellow member of the Taxation Institute of Australia and was admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of Victoria in 2007. She is also admitted to practice in the High Court of Australia.

Claire Van-Raay

Claire heads our estate's team, bringing with her a Master of Laws (Applied Law) majoring in Wills and Estates and her extensive experience in both estate planning and deceased estates. Given the sensitive nature of this work, when designing an estate plan, Claire takes the time to understand the various wealth structures and each family's dynamics. Using this information and her particular knowledge in often overlooked other areas of law, she will work with each client to create a robust plan which aligns with their particular intentions. With an in depth understanding of the various state tribunals and courts, Claire shows the same diligence and sensitivity towards her clients when they are trying to understand and fulfil their roles as attorneys, executors or any other legal personal representative roles. Claire's clients frequently attest to how genuine and authentic she is. She has a particular knack at getting down to the issues and providing her legal advice in a way that is understandable for every one of her clients, no matter their situation in life. With an Advanced Diploma in Legal Practice and many years as a non-lawyer, Claire completed her Bachelor of Laws with Deakin University in 2013 (proudly graduating with an infant and toddler) and Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice with Leo Cussen Centre of Law in 2014. She was admitted to the Supreme Court of Victoria in 2015 and went on to complete her Master of Laws with College of Law in 2019.

Jemma Humphries

Jemma joins Fletcher Clarendon pairing the knowledge she has obtained whilst studying her LLB with the experience she gained at a mid-tier multidisciplinary firm in Melbourne. Whilst learning and training in preparation for her appointment to the Supreme Court, Jemma provides exceptional support on all aspects of client and matter management.

Josh Flett

Josh is experienced in a range of commercial, litigation, property, estate planning and trust law matters. He regularly advises corporate and private clients in relation to setting up, running, acquiring or divesting of interests in businesses, with a particular focus on the medical and technology industries. His knowledge of the structuring of business arrangements also places him in a unique position to provide comprehensive advice to private clients to ensure that appropriate consideration is given to business succession planning, asset protection and tax implications of their estate plans. In 2012 Josh worked as a Foreign Qualified Lawyer in the United Kingdom with a focus on Property and Licensing. Josh holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Graduate Diploma of Legal Training. He was admitted to legal practice in the Supreme Court of Victoria in 2008 and is admitted to practice in the High Court of Australia.

Julie Hogan

Julie has more than 25 years' experience in residential and commercial conveyancing in both New South Wales and Victoria. She regularly applies her extensive knowledge to advise and direct clients when making important decisions throughout the buying or selling process. Julie is passionate about making the conveyance process as stress-free as possible for clients and regularly goes above and beyond behind the scenes to ensure the transaction progresses smoothly. Julie's keen interest in all things related to property law has also seen her becoming skilled and experienced in a variety of other property related matters, including subdivisions (from 2 lot subdivisions to 50+ lot subdivisions), related party transfers, pension exemptions and concessions, PPR concessions, farm exemptions and transfers of water rights.

Leigh Hogarty

Leigh is experienced in litigation, advice, and transaction matters across a range of practice areas including general commercial, property, building, planning and environment. Her key areas of expertise include business advice to commercial and private clients, business sale and purchase, and litigation and dispute resolution across multiple jurisdictions. She regularly advises clients in relation to commercial, property and building transactions and disputes. Leigh has worked in a top tier firm, environmental not for profit, health regulation government agency and several boutique firms. This diverse experience has afforded her a broad and varied knowledge base, with a progressive and client-focused approach. With two law degrees to her name, Leigh is passionate about the law and ensuring legal advice is outcome-driven. Leigh holds a Bachelor of Art, Bachelor of Law - Deans Merit List (South Africa) and Bachelor of Law - Honours (Monash University). She was admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of Victoria in 2007.

Molly Gaussen-Cappellano

Before joining Fletcher Clarendon, Molly worked as a practice support assistant to a select number of barristers at the Victorian Bar, prior to that Molly worked as an assistant at a mid-tier law firm in Melbourne CBD.

Rebecca Stokie

Rebecca provides invaluable assistance to the Fletcher Clarendon team on all aspects of their client and matter management. Before joining Fletcher Clarendon, Rebecca worked in administration for a mid-tier accounting firm. She also worked for an international not for profit organisation and part of her employment was spent working in Germany. Rebecca holds a Certificate III in Business Administration (Legal) and holds an Associate Degree in Law (Paralegal Studies).

Ryan Scott

After beginning his legal career in property and conveyancing, Ryan now works across a range of commercial, litigation and estate planning matters. Ryan's experience and broad range of technical skills allow him to assist clients with complex commercial and property transactions, whilst ensuring that potential risks are identified and mitigated. His understanding of the property settlement process also enables him to advise on contractual obligations, statutory warranties and assist with building disputes. Ryan holds a Bachelor of Laws and Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice. He was admitted to practice law in the Supreme Court of Victoria in 2021.
