Aleena Shah is an associate in the commercial real estate team.
Aleena advises a varied client base which includes investors, high net worth individuals and private and public companies.
Aleena is known for her holistic and solution oriented approach.
Aleena qualified in 2019 and joined Russell-Cooke in 2021.
Alex is an associate in the corporate and commercial team.
Since joining the team in March 2017, Alex has gained experience in a broad range of corporate and commercial work across a variety of sectors.
He regularly advises on business and company acquisitions and sales, group restructuring, equity fundraising and lending, commercial contracts and intellectual property matters.
Alex has a growing number of startup clients operating in a variety of fields including finance, software/technology, social media, real estate and recruitment. These businesses require advice in relation to a wide spectrum of matters ranging from investment rounds and shareholder agreements to terms of business and brand / IP protection.
Alex also has particular experience in advising clients who face difficult company law and corporate governance issues, having regularly advised in matters involving contested company meetings and action against incumbent directors.

I advise developers, land owners and private individuals on the full range of planning law issues. I most enjoy working with long standing clients and seeing development proposals actually constructed; I aim for all new clients to become longstanding ones of the future.
Alex is a partner in our real estate team.
She advises on all aspects of planning, highways and compulsory purchase including planning applications, appeals, negotiating s106 agreements, challenges and enforcement.
She acts mainly for property developers, strategic land owners, property owners, energy companies and private individuals on a complete range of projects from major development projects to those for individuals.
She has had numerous articles published in Estates Gazette, Planning, Property News and the National Press and has presented several seminars including being invited to speak at events hosted by large conference training and networking providers.
She qualified at a leading global law firm and practised there for eight years before joining Russell-Cooke in 2012 to set up the planning team. She became a partner in 2015.
Experience
Advising the Royal Mail Estates Limited on the new British Postal Museum (a change of use from offices to the museum with ancillary bar/café, extension) working alongside consultant team on the planning application and then leading on the s106 and s278 agreements

Amanda is an associate solicitor in the real estate team.
Amanda advises on all aspects of planning law and has acted for a range of clients including major house builders, property developers, NHS Foundation Trusts, schools, pension funds, investors, local authorities and private individuals.
Examples of Amanda's work include strategic advice on planning applications, negotiating s106 agreements, enforcement, CIL, certificates of lawfulness, assets of community value and the use of Freedom of Information/Environmental Information requests in a planning context.
She has also advised commercial clients on a wide variety of planning issues, including business parks and investment funds.
Amanda has significant experience in conducting major planning appeals and High Court statutory planning challenges.
Amanda worked at a local authority before moving to the City in 2014. She joined Russell-Cooke in 2019.
Experience
Acted for the local authority in the case of R v Del Basso and Goodwin. This key case confirmed that confiscation procedures under the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002 can be used in planning cases where an offender has benefited financially from a breach of planning control

Amy Anderson

Amy Taylor is a legal assistant in the private client team and an associate of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives.
Amy advises and assists on wills, probates and lasting powers of attorney with a particular focus on high value probate and complex international estates.
Amy holds a PhD in population genetics from Royal Holloway University of London and a CILEx Level 3 Certificate in Law and Practice. Amy is currently studying to become a qualified chartered legal executive.
Amy joined the corporate and commercial department of Russell-Cooke in 2014 before moving to the private client department in 2017.
Andrew Morgan is an incredibly hardworking associate with an eye for detail. He is ahead of his years and has a great ability to get to grips with a case. Highly recommended.
Andrew is a trust accountant in the private client team.
He leads the trust administration team which manages the day-to-day operations of over 100 trusts and funds. He is also part of the team that operates the Russell-Cooke Trust Company in its role as corporate trustee, executor and professional deputy.
Andrew assists his legal colleagues in both the private client and trust and estate disputes teams with the accounting and tax aspects of the estate administration, and is a specialist in the preparation of accounts for complex and cross-border estates.
Andrew is qualified as a Chartered Accountant. He joined Russell-Cooke in 2007.
Andrew is a partner in the charity and social business team specialising in property issues.
Andrew has spent his entire career advising charities, and other third sector bodies on their property issues and requirements, including sales, leases, management issues and developments. He has particular experience on property issues arising from charity mergers and incorporations, as well as being an expert on property issues for schools.
Andrew regularly speaks and writes on third sector property issues, including for CLT and PLC, and was instrumental in the inception of the Charity Finance Property Conference, now the leading event in the sector.
Andrew joined Russell Cooke as a partner in 2017, having previously been a partner at a national firm leading the property support for its nationally top rated charity and education practices, building the London property team of that firm from scratch.

Anthony Sakrouge

Anthony is head of the employment team. He acts for both employers and employees, specialising in contentious work and negotiations relating to the complex starting and leaving packages of directors and other senior employees. He advises on and handles disputes involving bonuses, entitlements under incentive plans, breach of contract, restrictive covenants, confidentiality, the duty of fidelity, commission, share disputes, discrimination, whistle-blowing and unfair dismissal. He has extensive experience of litigation in both the Employment Tribunals and the Courts.
Bedford Row is situated between High Holborn (the A40) and Theobald's Road. Turn into Red Lion Street from High Holborn; first right will take you into Bedford Row. Russell-Cooke has no parking facilities but there is metered parking on Bedford Row. Parking restrictions are rigidly enforced.
Judith is a diplômée notaire in the French law and property team. She graduated from the University of Lyon 2 with a Master's degree in French Private and Civil Law and from CFPN (Centre de Formation Professionnel Notarial) with a Notaire's Diploma in 2015.
Judith has always had a great interest in cross border matters and has particular expertise in French property law. She advises on purchase and sale of properties, French inheritance law and French wills.
Before joining Russell-Cooke in December 2018, Judith specialised in French inheritance and property law, including cross-border estate planning, and worked in Notaire's offices in Lyon and in the French Alps where she had the opportunity to assist British nationals with sales and purchases of properties in France.
