Since joining the team in March 2017, Alex has gained experience in a broad range of corporate and commercial work across a variety of sectors. Alex Ground

I advise developers, land owners and private individuals on the full range of planning law issues. I most enjoy working with long standing clients and seeing development proposals actually constructed; I aim for all new clients to become longstanding ones of the future. Alex is a partner in our real estate team. She advises on all aspects of planning, highways and compulsory purchase including planning applications, appeals, negotiating s106 agreements, challenges and enforcement. She acts mainly for property developers, strategic land owners, property owners, energy companies and private individuals on a complete range of projects from major development projects to those for individuals. She has had numerous articles published in Estates Gazette, Planning, Property News and the National Press and has presented several seminars including being invited to speak at events hosted by large conference training and networking providers. She qualified at a leading global law firm and practised there for eight years before joining Russell-Cooke in 2012 to set up the planning team. She became a partner in 2015. Amanda is an associate solicitor in the real estate team. Amanda advises on all aspects of planning law and has acted for a range of clients including major house builders, property developers, NHS Foundation Trusts, schools, pension funds, investors, local authorities and private individuals. Examples of Amanda's work include strategic advice on planning applications, negotiating s106 agreements, enforcement, CIL, certificates of lawfulness, assets of community value and the use of Freedom of Information/Environmental Information requests in a planning context. She has also advised commercial clients on a wide variety of planning issues, including business parks and investment funds. Amanda has significant experience in conducting major planning appeals and High Court statutory planning challenges. Amanda worked at a local authority before moving to the City in 2014. Andrew is a partner in the charity and social business team specialising in property issues. Andrew has spent his entire career advising charities, and other third sector bodies on their property issues and requirements, including sales, leases, management issues and developments. He has particular experience on property issues arising from charity mergers and incorporations, as well as being an expert on property issues for schools. Andrew regularly speaks and writes on third sector property issues, including for CLT and PLC, and was instrumental in the inception of the Charity Finance Property Conference, now the leading event in the sector. Judith Backo

Judith is a diplômée notaire in the French law and property team. She graduated from the University of Lyon 2 with a Master's degree in French Private and Civil Law and from CFPN (Centre de Formation Professionnel Notarial) with a Notaire's Diploma in 2015. Judith has always had a great interest in cross border matters and has particular expertise in French property law. She advises on purchase and sale of properties, French inheritance law and French wills.
