Schmitty & Sons still provides transportation for the Lakeville School district; however, the fleet has expanded from that one bus in 1952 to over 100 buses today. The expansion has also opened doors for new areas of business in the charter and transit division. In 2000, Schmitty & Son's purchased the rights to the Gray Line Tours franchise for Minnesota. Within Gray Line Minnesota we operate a large fleet of school buses, coach buses and trolleys. The Schmitty & Sons transit division includes the Minnesota Valley Transit Authority (MVTA).
