Christine Sue Lofton

Christine Sue Lofton, age 56, departed this earth on Monday, February 26, 2024, in Ardmore, Okla. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, March 1, 2024, at Hickory Cemetery with Pastor Jody Ham officiating. Christine was born on October 12, 1967, to Robert Lee Baptiste Jr. and Vivian (Johnson) Baptiste, in Lawton, Okla. She attended and graduated from Plainview High School with The Class of 1985. Christine excelled in school both academically and in sports, having achieved many awards in track, softball and basketball including All American. She attended East Central University in Ada, Okla. and Guthrie Job Corps. Returning to her hometown she went to work in front desk reception at Lake Murray Lodge and later for Red Carpet Inn. She worked as a payroll administrator for Ardmore Schools and secretarial at Culbert's Attorney-at-Law Office. Christine married Cory Leonard Lofton on December 5, 2009, at Ardmore, Okla. She then worked as a Transportation Assistant for Plainview Schools and for John Deere as a clerk. Christine had a deep love for animals, especially her beloved kitty cats. You could often find her nose deep in a novel, shopping or watching NASCAR with her husband Corey. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Baptiste, and brothers, Chris Baptiste and Kevin Murray. Left to cherish her memories is her husband, Cory Lofton, son, Tyler Lofton, and daughter, Ronni McQueen. Parents, Vivian and Ronnie Murray, sister, Chasity Strebeck and husband, Donald, brother, Jason Murray and wife, Tiffany, and sisters, Cece Norman and Elizabeth Timothy. Nephews: Brandon Strebeck, Minko Chitto Strebeck, Benny Strebeck, Riley Reedmer, and Zachary Norman, and great-nephew, Zion Reedmer. Great-aunt, Josephine Taylor. Serving as casket bearers will be: Tyler Lofton, Donald Strebeck, Travis Scott, Jerome Morgan, Hubert Johnson, and Shannon Columbus. Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Thursday evening, February 29, 2024, at Griffin Hillcrest of Ardmore.
