Carol Johnston

Carol Johnston directs IEDG Human Resources with responsibility for recruitment, benefits, policies, compensation administration, and diversity & inclusion. She has decades of experience sourcing and supporting the acquisition of talent from around the world. Her role at IEDG includes championing career and professional growth as well as enhancing strategic partnerships. She has deep expertise in Canadian employment law and is committed to improving IEDG's organizational effectiveness through innovative people development.

Gary Williams - President

With decades of experience in the design, execution and commissioning of billion and hundred-million dollar capital projects, Gary Williams has a proven record of delivering value to clients. His experience spans the power, mining, refining, petrochemical and telecommunications industries. He has managed companies, and a wide range of Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) projects for some of the world's largest project management firms, including Bechtel, Bantrel, SNC-Lavalin, AMEC Foster Wheeler, Ausenco and AREVA, leading teams of hundreds of people. An outstanding strategic planner and trainer, Gary is an expert in aligning projects with client's business objectives and the realities of current circumstances. Gary led Ausenco's seven North American offices as Vice President, North America, after senior roles at SNC-Lavalin and AMEC Foster Wheeler and Bantrel with oversight of some of their largest projects. Projects under his purview included: the $1.2 billion ArcelorMittal Western Range Iron Ore mine, port and processing facilities in Liberia portions of the $4.2 billion K+S Legacy Potash Processing Facility in Saskatchewan the $600 million PetroTrin Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel Project in Trinidad the $1 billion PetroCanada Horizon coker project in Montreal, Quebec portions of the $12+ billion Reliance Jamnagar Export Refinery in Jamnagar, India the $800 million Low Sulfur Diesel upgrade for Suncor in Sarnia, Ontario the $600 million Offsites & Utilities water project for the Suncor Voyager Project in Fort McMurray, Alberta Gareth started his career as a site engineer with the Bechtel Corporation in 1980. During more than 21 years with the organization, he gained experience in virtually every aspect of project management - acting as a construction field engineer, a materials manager, a civil/structural engineering manager, a business manager, and finally project managing numerous hundred-million dollar projects. Gareth earned his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Cornell University and his Masters of Engineering in Structural Engineering from Rice University.

Krishan Mittal

Krishan Mittal has more than 35 years of global experience in developing and executing multi-billion-dollar brownfield & grassroots capital projects in the infrastructure, power, refinery & chemical and telecom industries for both private corporations and government agencies. He is a seasoned professional with thorough knowledge of the global Engineering, Procurement, and Construction business; and deep experience in state-of-the-art project delivery models; and increasing clients' governance and compliance requirements. His broad spectrum of professional experience includes the customization and implementation of integrated and scalable project management controls programs, Process Mapping and Gap Analysis, Project Quality and Execution Audits, Due Diligence and Validation of Estimates, Benchmarking and KPIs, alignment of project drivers and processes to stakeholders' standards and governance. Krishan is skilled in providing data analysis, early warning of threats to project viability, and maintaining objectivity in executive reporting. He combines well-honed communication, negotiation, and mentoring skills with the demonstrated ability to build cohesive and motivated teams, and to achieve optimum use of resources. His project controls expertise includes: project planning / scheduling, cash-flow and risk management, cost management, value engineering, change management, and progress and performance control. Michael Dunham

Michael Dunham is an industry veteran with 46 years of UK and international construction experience in the rail and oil and gas major programmes. Michael has held several senior management positions on major rail new build and modernization programmes. In 2020 Michael stepped into the role of Delivery Director for Crossrail in the UK to complete, commission, assure and Handover 10 iconic major underground Stations ready for revenue service for the first half of 2022. Which was achieved in support of Revenue Service. His responsibilities included Design, Procurement/finance, CDM compliance, Safety, Delivery, Commissioning , Assurance and Asset Transfer to the Maintainer. Between 2015-19, Michael served in Canada as the Construction Director and Director of Special Operations on the £3bn Spadina Link Subway Extension and the £8bn Eglinton Crosstown Light Rail Transit Project, respectfully. In both roles, Michael was instrumental in the restructuring of the delivery teams, schedules and budgets to address delays and cost overruns. At Spadina, Michael led the team managing 14 Principal Contractors delivering the twin track tube extension including 6 iconic stations, tunnelling, systems integration, ATC signalling systems, testing & commissioning with no LTIs over 36 months. Prior to these assignments, Michael served in the UK as the Implementation Director/Head of Construction on the Great Western Electrification Project from 2010 to 2014 where he was responsible for engineering, procurement delivery and commissioning of the £2.3bn electrification scheme. From 2002 to 2009, Michael held several senior construction and functional management roles on the West Coast Route Modernization Project where he managed the delivery of 200 miles of electrification, signalling and trackwork the four tracks. Michael started his career in 1974 as pipe fitter in the oil and gas industry in the Texas Gulf Coast. He raised through the ranks and joined Bechtel as a Superintendent in 1983. For the next 15 years, Michael served on roles of increasing responsibility such as Project Superintendent, Site Manager and Project Manager on an array of major petrochemical, refining and power programmes most of which were EPC lump-sum and direct hire.

Ray Seker

Ray Seker leads IEDG's Infrastructure business. A Toronto based professional engineer, Ray has over 30 years of global experience delivering value to industry leaders in Canada, the US and around the world. Prior to joining IEDG, Ray served in technical and executive leadership roles with Bechtel. His diverse project experience spans the global infrastructure, mining and energy sectors specializing in large, complex capital programs. Ray works with public sector and private sector organizations and stakeholders in project development, project finance, governance and execution to achieve desired business outcomes.

Richard (Dick) Mcllhattan

Dick Mcllhattan, former Senior Vice President of the Bechtel Corporation, has vast experience in all facets of engineering and construction business management. During his 40-year career he held a variety of leadership roles in major national and international capital programs within Bechtel's Railway and LNG businesses. He served as Program Director for Bechtel's major capital programs which included the Network Rail, Crossrail, Reading Station Remodel, and West Coast Route Modernization projects. These positions included responsibility for all program activities including implementation, design development, procurement, construction and commissioning. Dick also served as Manager of Bechtel's Houston office providing global engineering services to multiple business lines; President of Bechtel's open shop construction company; and Chairperson of the Project Management Committee. He has managed large engineering and construction organizations-both union and non-union. Dick provides invaluable leadership and strategic guidance in performance and risk management, cost and schedule management, management of complex capital programs and organizational development.

Sam Nimry

Sam Nimry leads IEDG's Rail & Transportation services sector. He has decades of experience managing and delivering integrated project control services for mega rail infrastructure projects in the United Kingdom, the Middle East, and Canada. A global expert in rail infrastructure mega-projects, Sam has led the integrated delivery of major renewals, enhancements and new railway infrastructure totaling CAD $50 billion since 1996. He has vast experience in the development and implementation of public sector plans and procedures. Sam is a global expert in IPD/Alliance process methodologies.

Tony Fanelli

One of North America's premier labour relations experts, Tony Fanelli has more than 30 years of experience in labour relations, human resources, recruitment, labour strategy, construction management and safety processes across Canada and the US, on multi-million and billion dollar projects. He has also led sensitive negotiations with the First Nations for a variety of owners, paving the way for successful project agreements and delivery. Tony's experience spans a broad range of sectors including nuclear, hydroelectric, fossil, solar and wind power generation, as well as manufacturing, oil refineries, upgraders, LNG, pipelines, petro-chemical and steel mills. Tony brings a practical, hands-on approach to leadership, labour relations (LR) and construction management. He has deep expertise administering collective agreements; and has negotiated project and maintenance agreements with construction/maintenance building trades both provincially and nationally in Canada, and the US. Tony has established corporate labour relations programs and procedures for a wide range of projects, and has managed the human resources function at regional and corporate levels. He has provided advice to executive management and owners on all matters relating to LR including collective bargaining, grievance resolution, safety policy & procedures, regulations and legislative matters and project governance. Positions Tony has held throughout his career include Vice President, Manager of Labour Relations, Bantrel Constructors; Director of Labour Services for SNC-Lavalin, Montreal; Operations Manager for BFI Constructors; and Vice President, Employee Relations & Safety for Comstock Canada.

Wayne Panagis

With more than 25 years of global experience, Wayne has worked with owners and builders on large complex infrastructure and industrial projects, both at the project site and corporates level, for organizations including Bechtel, Aecon and BHP. In addition to risk management, his expertise includes program leadership, organizational change, process improvement, performance management, strategic planning, team building, training development, and facilitation.
