I work from my beloved garden studio in West Sussex, having relocated from London in 2015. My resulting work took a new direction into brighter, lighter colours and softer lines, reflecting the contrast between the hard edges of urban London landscapes to the beautiful light and colour of the south coast with soft undulations of the Southdown National Park. I work in many genres - a favourite being still life, whether flowers or objects. I occasionally paint cats and birds and recently a dog. My ideas spring from anything, whether it's an old photo from a past holiday trip or something I suddenly see from a bus or on a walk. I photograph things that I might later turn into a painting. I am also fond of portrait and belong to small art group in my local village, sourcing our models from friends and neighbours... I originally took a foundation course in Art at the West Sussex School of Art and Crafts, then based in Worthing, then obtained my BA (hons) degree in Printed & Woven Textiles..
