We believe that many annuities are legitimately good at providing secure, lifetime income, but are not very good at producing necessary growth and inflation protection. Therefore, annuities should be used as part of a greater overall plan and should not be viewed as a stand-alone solution by themselves... We believe that professionally managed (tactical) stock-market portfolios can provide healthy, long-term upside growth potential and can be very effective at preserving principal while still allowing for a high degree of downside risk protection.
