KNIGHTS FAMILY DENTISTRY - Key Persons

Dr. Alan Katende was born in Ardsley, NY, and has lived in Missouri, Maryland, and Washington, D.C. He is proud to call Harker Heights his home. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Washington University in St. Louis, and his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Howard University College of Dentistry in Washington, D.C. Dr. Katende received advanced training in general dentistry at Bronx Lebanon Hospital and completed an oral and maxillofacial surgery fellowship at Harlem Hospital, both in New York. To keep up with advancements in his field, Dr. Katende continues to take continuing education courses in implants, orthodontics, and oral surgery. Dr. Katende's philosophy and approach to dentistry, and family dentistry in particular, includes focusing on preventive dentistry. He believes that fluoride treatment combined with sealants - as well as dietary counseling at a young age - can prevent costly dental treatment down the road. Dr. Katende loves playing sports and staying fit, and spending time with his family - his wife, Yasai, and their three boys. Dr. Katende is also passionate about music. He's been playing piano and guitar since he was a child
