LUMBRA HARDWOODS

Products: The sawmill produces some of the finest hardwood lumber in North America. Native Maine hardwoods are sawed. Production capacity is approximately 7.5 million feet annually of hardwood lumber. The species are as follows: (Listed in order or the greatest to least amount processed.) Hard Maple, Yellow Birch, Soft Maple, Ash, Oak, Beech, and Basswood. Lumber is graded according to the National Hardwood Lumber Association (NHLA) rules and sold in trailer load qualities. Lumber is sold "green" (not dried), kiln dried or air- dried. Primary sizes sawed are 4/4, 5/4, 6/4 and 8/4 along with 4×4 and 4×6 pallet stock and pallet parts. Waste products such as pulp chips, bark and sawdust are marketed to area paper companies, pellet mills, biomass companies and farmers.
