icroville is a miniature world of living landscapes. When it began in 2011 carbon activated glass terrariums were used to support life, and the little men and women came out to play. With an eye on no-brainer gardening, glass has since made way for ceramic with easy care drainage. Vessels with a diameter of about twenty centimetres are often used, although they can range from five centimetres to just over one metre. Using a teaspoon fashioned into a shovel, a chopstick, tweezers and nail scissors, the landscapes evolve supporting living flora and model fauna. Moss becomes lawn, small undulations become rolling hills, stones and rocks suggest boulders and cliffs. Of course to sustain life, they require water and sunlight in varying degrees. Oh, and a little bit of love. The further we look into the macro, the more chance Microville may remind us how small we really are, upon this fragile little planet.
