received his LL.B. degree in 1986 from the University of Calgary and was called to the bar in 1987. Initially Orton's legal practice was fairly general, with an emphasis on the areas of corporate/commercial law, real estate, and wills and estates. Orton Minor Professional Corporation concluded the contract arrangement with Shea Nerland Calnan in the summer of 2001. Orton continues to practice through Orton Minor Professional Corporation in the areas of tax and estate planning, corporations, partnerships, and trusts for individuals and private businesses. Memberships Orton is a member of the Canadian Tax Foundation, the Canadian Bar Association and local subsections, and the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners.
