Long before Mehdi became an architect, he received a small camera from his father, and photography quickly became a way for him to document his surroundings, and to understand them. It was his interest in people and collectivity that, little by little, brought him to draw line drawing. Mehdi develops ways to express our interconnectivity and our resemblances, detailed visual narratives inked with pen and nib. His artworks, present without a title, let us navigate freely between the lines and find our interpretation of his multifaceted characters. The influence and impact of humanity on one another are at the heart of Mehdi's work. Further, he informed by sociology, psychology, and his profession as an architect, his perceptiveness, insight, and mediation are as foundational as a cornerstone is to a building.
