Duc Lam, DDS, MD is a board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon who received his Bachelor of Science Biology degree from the University of Saint Thomas in Houston and went on to pursue a doctorate in dental surgery from the University of Texas School of Dentistry in Houston. He continued his education and earned his medical doctorate at McGovern Medical School, completing USMLE Step 1, 2, and 3. He completed his general anesthesia training at Ben Taub General Hospital. Afterwards, he obtained a 2 year General Surgery certificate and specialized in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, completing his surgical training at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston. He is certified in basic life support, advanced cardiac life support, and pediatric advanced life support. Dr. Lam's rigorous training from the world-renowned Texas Medical Center allows him to operate in the full scope of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery with interests in full mouth dental implant rehabilitation surgery, wisdom teeth surgery, maxillofacial trauma, facial Botox injections, and oral pathology. He is a member of the American Dental Association (ADA), a diplomate member of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and has hospital privileges at Memorial Hermann Memorial City. Dr. Lam also enjoys teaching students and is an adjunct associate professor at the UT School of Dentistry, focusing on patients in need at the Healthcare for the Homeless in Houston clinic. He enjoys experiencing different cultures and traveling to scenic locations around the world to capture landscape photographs. He is a black belt in Tae Kwon Do and has also trained in Wushu Kung Fu, Brazilian jiu-jitsu, American-style boxing, Muay Thai, and Krav Maga. During his free time, you will find him spending time with his family and significant other, playing tennis with his 3 brothers, or planning another snowboarding trip. He speaks both English and Vietnamese.

Dr. Laith Mahmood

Dr. Laith Mahmood is a board certified Oral and Maxillo-facial surgeon. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in 2001 from the University of California Riverside, and went on to pursue a doctorate in dental surgery from the prestigious UCLA school of Dentistry, graduating in 2005. He then went on to complete a one-year General Practice residency at the Montefiore Hospital in New York, affiliated with the Albert Einstein school of Medicine. It was during this year that he felt the calling of surgery and thus he applied and matched to the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery program at the University of Texas School of Health Sciences in Houston. He completed his medical school training with the University of Texas at Houston in 2011 and finished his Internship in General Surgery at Memorial Hermann Hospital in the Texas Medical center the following year. He completed his general anesthesia training at Ben Taub General Hospital. Dr. Mahmood completed the United States Medical Licensing Examination steps 1, 2, and 3 and is certified in basic and advanced cardiac life support as well as Pediatric advanced life support. He completed 4 years of Oral Surgery training with the University of Texas at Houston School of Dentistry and was given the status of Chief Resident for his last year in 2012 - 2013. In total, Dr. Mahmood has completed 11 years of graduate surgical, medical and dental education. n addition to the rigorous clinical and surgical training he has undergone, Dr. Mahmood has also given numerous lectures throughout his residency career on topics ranging from cosmetic surgery to facial trauma and infections. He has been the presenter at facial trauma conferences and regional oral surgery conferences. Dr. Mahmood has publications in the renowned Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial surgery as well as authorship in a textbook of oral pathology. He greatly enjoys public speaking and education and will always take the time to explain any aspect of a disease condition or treatment to a patient and their family in terms they can understand.
