Brian Pottebaum

Job Titles:

Brian P. is a licensed petroleum storage tank inspector and loss control specialist with over 20 years of experience with regulatory requirements and loss control oversight of petroleum storage tank systems. He also maintains certifications with NACE International, Steel Tank Institution (STI), and multiple manufacturers. Mr. Pottebaum has been recognized for his role in developing and conducting detailed training sessions for petroleum storage tank owner/operators, inspectors, installers and regulatory personnel. Mr. Pottebaum has also been involved with multiple technical writing projects, including industry standards and petroleum marketers association publications in multiple states. In addition, Brian P. is the senior customer service representative for people with questions on regulatory requirements and management of their petroleum storage tank systems.

Brian Wiegert - VP

Brian Wiegert is Vice President of Underwriting for PMMIC and COO of R&A Risk Professionals. Mr. Wiegert has over 40 years of experience in the petroleum storage tank industry. He served 16 of those years as General Manager and Construction/Maintenance Director for a Midwest convenience store chain. Brian has been an Iowa licensed UST inspector and installer. He is a former board member of PEI and currently serves as a committee member for PEI's RP900 and RP1200 Recommended Practices. Mr. Wiegert currently serves on several Underwriter Laboratories (UL) technical standard panels and is Past Chair of the Board for the Iowa Renewable Fuels Infrastructure Program for the State of Iowa. Brian has been with PMMIC Insurance since the inception of the company.

Caitlyn Grow

Caitlyn Grow is an administrative assistant. She has an Associates in Arts (AA) degree from Des Moines Area Community College. She has two years of office experience and eight years of customer service experience. Caitlyn is responsible for assisting the office manager and staff with projects, claims, and various other administrative tasks.

Charles Hernandez

Charles Hernandez is our IT Support Technician. He has over 17 years of IT experience with the American Red Cross, Orchard Place, and Dowling Catholic. In his free time, Mr. Hernandez coaches youth baseball and football, and enjoys going fishing, hiking, and running with his wife and three children.

Christian Quijano

Mr. Quijano is a licensed petroleum storage tank inspector and loss control specialist with over 15 years of experience in the petroleum storage and distribution industry. Christian is experienced in the technical compliance, removal, and environmental assessments of underground petroleum storage tank systems. Mr. Quijano's experience involves Regulatory Compliance Inspections, UST Operator Training, Phase I/II Environmental Assessments, Pre-Purchase/Property Transfer Environmental Assessments and Underground Storage Tank Removals. In addition, Christian is a customer service representative for people with questions on regulatory requirements and management of their petroleum storage tank systems.

Christopher Wiegert

Christopher has over 13 years of experience in application development, database management, and network infrastructure implementation. Mr. Wiegert develops web and Windows solutions for inspections, insurance, examination, claims management, and training platforms. Mr. Wiegert completed his B.A. in Computer Science at Simpson College in 2011.

Colby Osborn

Colby Osborn, UST inspector and loss control specialist, has over 16 years of experience in the petroleum industry. Mr. Osborn is experienced in compliance testing for both underground and aboveground storage tank systems. He is familiar with various types of tank and line leak detection equipment, remediation services, walkthrough inspections, cathodic protection systems. Prior to joining our team in 2020, Colby worked as a Senior Compliance Technician.

Dan Reinders - CFO

Dan has over 20 years of experience in Finance and Accounting for the insurance industry in property casualty and life and annuities as well as public accounting experience. He is responsible for managing the financial resources of the insurance operations and providing strategic advice to the CEO and Board of Directors.

Dylan Callum

Dylan Callum is an underwriting assistant. He graduated from Iowa State University in 2022 with a degree in supply chain management, and has eight years of customer service experience.

Evan Zeller

Evan Zeller has over 10 years of experience in the P&C industry in varying capacities including underwriting, sales/marketing, and production. Zeller is a graduate of the University of Northern Iowa, with a major in marketing, and his MBA at Mount Mercy University. He has earned a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC), Associate in General Insurance (AINS), and Associate in Commercial Underwriting - Management (AU-M) designations. He is responsible for managing the underwriting department of the company and identifying strategic ways to grow profitably.

Gayle Brimeyer

She is responsible for overseeing office operations, corporate compliance, and various administrative tasks. Ms. Brimeyer graduated with a B.A. Degree in Psychology from the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls, Iowa.

He was an installer, service technician and supervisor of a petroleum businesses building and servicing both retail and bulk facilities in the Midwest.

Julia Dambekaln

Julia Dambekaln is our Marketing Coordinator. She graduated from Drake University in May 2023, and received degrees in Public Relations and Writing. She manages the company social media accounts, creates advertising materials, and helps write and distribute newsletters and blog posts.

Linda Buckalew

Lori Fish

Patrick Rounds - CEO, President

Patrick Rounds is President and CEO of PMMIC, as well as President for its subsidiary, R&A Risk Professionals. He founded R&A in 1999. With over 25 years of experience managing environmental risks and creating risk-financing programs, he is nationally recognized as a speaker on environmental risk management and financial responsibility programs for petroleum storage tank systems. He serves on the Underwriter Laboratories (UL) technical standard panels for UL971, Standard for Nonmetallic Underground Piping For Flammable Liquids. Mr. Rounds also serves as Chair to the E50.01 Sub Committee on Storage Tanks, ASTM Committee E50 on Environmental Assessment, Risk Management and Corrective Action. An attorney by education, Mr. Rounds has consulted with several states to conduct evaluations of their UST programs and has created several risk financing mechanisms to assist owners to demonstrate compliance with environmental financial responsibility requirements. He has developed risk financing programs in several states and in Canada. Mr. Rounds was the Administrator of the Iowa Comprehensive Petroleum UST Financial Responsibility Fund from 1994 through 1999. He is a former board member and Past President of the Foundation for Children and Families of Iowa, a member of the Dowling Catholic High School Foundation Board, Holy Family School Inner-City Youth Foundation Board, a Principal of Des Moines Flying Club and is Past President of the Des Moines Skydivers.

Ryan Sitzmann

Mr. Sitzmann is responsible for thoroughly evaluating, reviewing, and processing facility inspection reports, communicating with insureds, and providing department administrative support.

Stan Hogue

Stan Hogue, UST inspector and loss control specialist, has over 9 years of experience in the petroleum industry. Mr. Hogue's experience includes servicing aboveground storage tanks, conducting petroleum equipment inspections, and responding to hazardous spills. Prior to joining our team in 2022, he worked as a Pipeline Supervisor.

Steve Reinders

Steve has over 20 years of experience in the assessment and cleanup of petroleum and hazardous chemical spills as a Certified Groundwater Professional in Iowa. Mr. Reinders started his career as a consultant handling spill assessment and cleanup before working for the Iowa Underground Storage Tank (IUST) Fund to manage environmental claims. He is also a past president of Environmental Professionals of Iowa (EPI). Since starting with PMMIC, Steve has become a licensed insurance adjuster in Texas and the reciprocal states (Iowa does not have licensing for adjusters), and has become an Associate in Risk Management (ARM). Steve oversees and is Director of the Claims Department.

Teri Mendoza

Teri has over 20 years of underwriting and loan documentation experience. Teri is responsible for reviewing all pertinent documents relating to new/renewal insurance applications and inspections for insurance coverage.

Tony Song - CIO

Tony Song is Chief Information Officer and Vice President of PMMIC and R&A Risk Professionals. Mr. Song has over twenty years of experience in the development, training, and supervision of insurance, accounting, environmental, petroleum marketing, and waste management solutions. He graduated with a B.S. in Computer Engineering from Iowa State University with an emphasis in chip design and software engineering. His responsibilities include architecting software and database solutions, system and network administration, and infrastructure management. Tony previously worked as an engineering consultant for three years and an IT Director for two years before joining R&A Risk Professionals.
