SANI SAFE

Requires that vehicles and transportation equipment be maintained in such a sanitary condition as to prevent the food that they transport from becoming filthy, putrid, decomposed, or otherwise unfit for food, or being rendered injurious to health from any source during transportation operations. Under section 402(i) of the FD Act (21 U.S.C. 342(i)), a food shall be deemed to be adulterated if it is transported or offered for transport by a shipper, carrier by motor vehicle or rail vehicle, receiver, or any other person engaged in the transportation of food under conditions that are not in compliance with regulations issued under section 416 of the 2005 SFTA.
