St. Christopher's High School, Poole is described here from 1947, a time when few families had a car and even less a telephone or television. By the time the School closed 22 years later, the black Ford Prefect had given way to the two-tone Cortina GT, an operator no longer connected your call and Cliff Richard was not quite so cool, even if he was still appearing on Top Of The Pops, in colour, on your new Japanese TV!... The School saw post-war austerity turn into the swinging 60s and provided education during one of the most exciting and optimistic periods in recent history.
