Dr Linda Tjoa

Dr Linda Tjoa is an experienced neurologist. She obtained her medical degree from University of Queensland and completed her Neurology Specialist training throughout major hospitals in Queensland, including Townsville University Hospital, Princess Alexandra Hospital and Mater Hospital Brisbane, where she obtained her training in Epilepsy. She went on to work at the Mater Advanced Epilepsy Unit in Brisbane before returning to Townsville. She looks after the full range of general neurology conditions, and her special interest is in Epilepsy.

Dr Mike Boggild

Dr Mike Boggild has over 20 years experience in neurology, initially as a consultant neurologist at The Walton Centre in Liverpool, UK before becoming Director of Neurology at The Townsville Hospital in 2012. He has a specialist interest in Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and was the visiting neurologist to The Isle of Man for 15 years with experience across the range of neurological disorders. After completing his neurology training in Leicester, Stoke-on-Trent and Newcastle-upon-Tyne he undertook a sabbatical at MS centres in the United States before setting up the MS service in Liverpool in 1996. The Walton multi-disciplinary MS service was later recognised by the MS society as the best comprehensive service in UK. He initiated a number of investigator led clinical studies in addition to participating in numerous multi-centre trials. In 2002 he was appointed as clinical lead and subsequently chief investigator for the 5,000 patient UK MS risk-sharing scheme; a prospective 10 year study of the long-term outcomes and cost-effectiveness of disease modifying therapies, a role he relinquished in 2012 on moving to Australia. He maintains a number of active research collaborations, most recently with academics at JCU and contributed to 2014 Australia/New Zealand guidelines on MS management. He has authored over 50 peer reviewed publications and speaks regularly at national and international meetings and symposia. He is a member of the Scientific Advisory Committee to the Australia and New Zealand Association of Neurologists (ANZAN).

Dr Ravindra Urkude

Dr Ravi Urkude is an experienced neurologist and neurophysiologist. He has a passion for the delivery of high quality neurology and neurophysiology services. His speciality areas include neuromuscular disease, epilepsy, central and peripheral nervous system infection, dementia and Guillain-Barr é Syndrome. Trained in India he subsequently undertook research in CNS infection and a fellowship in Clinical Neurophysiology in Singapore. He has extensive international experience developed in India, Bahrain and most recently Australia. Since 2011 he has been a consultant neurologist at The Townsville Hospital as well as a Lecturer at the College of Medicine and Dentistry at James Cook University.

Dr Richard White

Dr Richard White brings many years experience to private patients in North Queensland seeking treatment for neurological disease. He has specialist interests in stroke and headaches, in addition to treatment with Botulinum Toxin for dystonia and chronic migraine. He consults across the breadth of neurological disorders.
