As the founder of Tynan Mackenzie in 1994, and with over 30 years' experience, David has established himself as a leader in the financial services industry. David's career began in 1968 at the long established share broking firm of Tynan & Co. After completing a university degree and his post-graduate Professional Year studies, he was admitted as Taxation Partner of the major international accounting firm, Touche Ross & Co (now KPMG), advising private clients on a wide range of investment and taxation issues. Prior to establishing Tynan Mackenzie, David was appointed State Manager of a major investment bank.

Dean Sandstrom

Dean has over 30 years' experience in financial planning with a proven track record of running medium to large size financial planning practices. Dean joined Strategic Planning Partners in 1991 and became a partner in 1997. In 2004, he was appointed to the role of Managing Partner. During his time at Strategic Planning Partners, Dean also practiced as a Financial Planner In 2005, he was named best financial planner in Queensland by Adviser Ratings. Following the sale of Strategic Planning Partners to ipac, Dean worked for the ipac group. In 2017, Dean joined Tynans as General Manager. Dennis Fitzpatrick

Dennis recently retired from the Queensland Police Service at the rank of Inspector, having served almost 38 years. His career included both metropolitan and county service, with the predominant amount of this time spent in his beloved Far North. Dennis is a Life Member of the Queensland Police Union of Employees, being elected for almost 20 years within the organisation as a Branch Official, Regional Representative, General Vice President. He performed the role of Acting General President for about 2 years. Dennis was a QSuper Trustee in 2007/08 and is acutely aware of superannuation and the immense importance of superannuation to the Police. He is acutely interested in seeing retiring police getting the best value from their super. Jim reached the rank of Superintendent in the Queensland Police Service, his last posting being the District Officer in charge of the Cairns Police District. During his police career he served at Innisfail, Mount Isa and Mackay before transferring to the Criminal Investigation Branch in Brisbane where he worked in the Homicide Squad, the Armed hold-up squad and general CIB areas for many years. He was then seconded to the Stewart Royal Commission in Sydney for 2 years working in a multi-discipline team environment for the first time. On returning to Brisbane he was appointed as one of the 7 original investigators at the Fitzgerald Commission of Inquiry, remaining there until the conclusion of the Commission. One of the highlights of his career was being awarded a Churchill Fellowship to study "strategies for combating police corruption" in a number of Overseas countries, including USA, Canada, UK, Hong Kong and Malaysia. Since his retirement from the Queensland Police he has worked for several Financial Advice Companies as a Senior Relationship Manager before joining Tynan's advice in a similar role.
