Allan Fitzsimmons - President

Allan, or Fitz as he's known around here, knows his stuff. With nearly two decades of experience in both Canada and the US, Fitz has a proven track record of getting the job done right, on time, and on budget. Turns out, he's also a great leader sparing no resources to get his team trained and giving them every opportunity to grow. He has built an amazing culture at Uptime, where his core values match those of his team. After Fitz became a Red Seal Millwright he never stopped learning, becoming a Lean Six Sigma green belt and a certified Kaizen Facilitator, and then going on to receive an Executive MBA from SFU. Fitz is proficient in the set-up and operation of CMMS software, MRO and Preventative and Predictive maintenance and programs. He also has great experience planning and executing CAPEX projects with a proven ROI of 12 months or less.

Gary Burgess

Gary has spent the majority of his time at Uptime implementing and fine tuning the safety program. His number one priority is the safety of our team which is easily noticeable as he lives and breathes our core values. Gary is constantly improving, learning, and going the extra mile to educate safety practices, and reduce the chance of worker risks and injuries. He does this by providing in-house training and safety related courses. Gary has background experience working with and around heavy machinery in regards to various types of construction. Some, but not all of his previous jobs include carpenter and heavy machinery operator. Now, as Uptime's CSO (Construction Safety Officer), there is not much that he won't do to ensure the safety of our team and our customers is always first. You can trust that Gary's got your back, and that he will ensure each job is done efficiently and safely.

Grant Tufts

Grant is an accomplished Human Resources professional and Executive Coach with over 13 years of success in a diverse range of industries that include Real Estate, Industrial, Construction, and Professional Services. His role at Uptime is centered on our people: acting as an ombudsman, driving performance and talent development, and curating a best-in-class employee experience. As an Executive, Grant operates as a senior partner and advisor - providing strategic guidance on people and talent initiatives, and distilling complex goals into high quality HR programs. Prior to his dedicated HR career, Grant was an entrepreneur who founded one of the fastest growing HR consulting companies in BC. This experience created working partnerships with hundreds of the top companies in North America, and helped forge Grant's unmatched ability to blend people and business needs.

Kyle Ross

Job Titles:
  • Department Manager, Mechanical
Kyle's leadership skills are evident through his mechanical manager role here at Uptime. After his experience playing in the National Lacrosse League for nine years and winning the NLL Championship with the Toronto Rock, he is now in charge of a slightly different team - one of highly trained mechanics and fabricators. Kyle has adapted well and gained knowledge and trust with customers and his team here at Uptime. Instead of scoring the game-winning goal, he goes above and beyond to keep things running smoothly. Combine Uptime's great team of millwrights and apprentices, with an experienced captain like Kyle, and you will get customers who are not only satisfied but are more than happy with a job well done.

Mike Noseworthy

With over 20 years of hands-on experience in electrical and automation, Mike just gets it. Mike taps into his vast experience everyday in overseeing the department to ensure our clients get the most innovative and cost effective solution they need, no matter what. It's just the way he works. With a Red Seal journeyman ticket and years of knowledge, Mike is a bit of an expert on most electrical topics. Troubleshooting systems, machine upgrades, factory layout, and power distribution are just a few of his areas of expertise.

Peter Carlson

Peter has worked his way up at Uptime starting as a Electrical Technician, then becoming the Service Manager, and now a Business Development Manager. He's a Red Seal Electrician with over 17 years of experience. His personality and work ethic are what our clients love most about Peter. Having run his own business he knows how to look for efficiencies and be a resource and partner with our clients. Always looking to help and go the extra mile, he is a pleasure to work with according to our clients he has interacted with.

Rob Baboniu

Rob has been with us since the beginning back when Uptime began in 2014 and is the definition of an experienced millwright. He has proven himself by working his way up from an apprentice millwright to a mechanical estimator. His resume is fully loaded with mechanical knowledge. Whether he is the lead mechanic for a fully automated parking garage at Jameson House, or doing other work such as fabricating, TIG, MIG stainless steel, aluminum, and mild steel, he always gets the job done efficiently and smoothly. Working in BC and Alberta, Rob excels at designing efficient solutions for production lines, relocating large facilities, and installing compressor and air nets. Whatever your mechanical needs are, Rob is here to take your call.

Stephen Sylvester

Steve is the newest member of our management team and he brings with him over 20 years of work experience. Whether it's directing high performing teams in transportation, warehousing and railways, or managing a group of industrial refrigeration and HVAC technicians, he is a great leader here at Uptime. His team has shown continued success in executing seasonal projects and day-to-day re-active service. With his customer-first approach, Steve goes beyond the extra mile to ensure that Uptime is handling our customers' every need, which includes everything from HVAC & refrigeration to all other trade work. Steve always makes sure his team is well equipped, trained, and organized for every job. Having a guy like him on our team instills confidence as we continue to grow.
