Dan is responsible for acquisitions, capital markets and accounting oversight. He has over 15 years of experience working with commercial real estate transactions and has held key positions with Capital One Bank and Royal Bank of Canada, focusing primarily on liquidity management strategies and capital stack efficiencies as a balance sheet lender. He has also held roles with JPMorgan and Credit Suisse in procurement, technology and trading. Dan has worked on numerous real estate transactions, including company and portfolio acquisitions and divestitures, bankruptcy recapitalizations, and the financing of REITs and REOCs. Key sectors of expertise include: student housing, seniors housing, multi-family (including LIHTCs and municipal bond financings), office, retail, industrial, data centers, and lodging. Dan earned an MBA from Columbia Business School, and a BSBA from New York University. He is a prior member of the National Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts (NAREIT) and the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC).

Douglas co-founded XFD Real Estate Partners in 2016. He focuses on development, acquisitions, and business strategy. Since launching XFD, the organization has acquired, managed, and developed over $400 million in student assets. XFD is currently comprised of 4,171 owned and managed beds located across seven universities and states in the USA. The firm focuses on the acquisition of undermanaged assets and creating value through intensive operational turnarounds and capital improvements, in order to generate attractive risk-adjusted returns. Douglas also serves as President of the Larson Company, a family-owned, diversified, real estate company with over $150 million AUM. Douglas holds a B.A. in Economics from The University of Illinois.
