Born and raised in the Brainerd Lakes Area, Brian has a unique understanding of the priorities and needs of his clients. It is his straight-forward transparency and accessibility that has earned his reputation as a trusted financial advisor with his client.
Brian grew up on his parent's dairy farm south of Brainerd and graduated from Brainerd High School. The cows are gone from the family farm, but Brian's dad is still there, a well-known fixture in the local community.
Brian graduated from the University of MN-Duluth with a Bachelor's in Industrial Engineering before returning to the Brainerd area to work at Parker Hannifin in Deerwood. He enjoyed his work at Parker Hannifin but left in 2006 to take on the challenge of entrepreneurship by founding Central Choice Financial (originally called Navigator Financial Group).
Brian is licensed in Security Series 6 and 63, Series 65 Investment Advisory, and Series 7 General Securities. Brian is also licensed in Life and Health Insurance. He is strongly committed to the value of family life and supporting the local community.
Brian has been married to his wife, Julie, since 1996. Together they are raising three daughters, Olivia, Madelyn, and Isabella. He has been active in the Brainerd Jaycees for many years. He participated in numerous community projects during that time and was the Chair of the Brainerd Jaycees $150,000 Ice Fishing Extravaganza in 2008.
Brian Sedlachek, founder of Central Choice Financial, grew up on a farm near South Long Lake. His family has strong ties throughout Crow Wing County and beyond. Brian is also known for his years working as an industrial engineer for Parker Hannifin, a local manufacturer in Deerwood, Minnesota.
In 2006, Brian decided to make a career change and became certified as a financial advisor. A trusted name goes a long way when starting a new business in the Lakes Area. Brian has continued to build on that trustworthy foundation, establishing himself as a preferred provider for those entering or in the retirement community. Referrals from current clients have helped the company to grow, adding new members from the local area to his team of professionals.

Dan was born and raised in Maryland. He has over 27 years of experience in the financial industry, with a focus on customer service and an ethical practice. In his previous roles, Dan started working for Money Management Advisory in 1992 licensed in Series 6 and 63 securities. Looking to broaden his experience and client base, he found a better opportunity with C.G. Menk & Associates in 1997. In 2010, Dan moved to Minnesota and remained working remotely for C.G. Menk & Associates until joining Central Choice Financial in 2016.
Dan has extensive experience in working with 401(k) plans. He loves sitting down with each participant to listen to their needs. He has a unique ability to combine this personal information with extensive research to determine the mutual funds that will best suit each individual. He wants to ensure his clients get the best possible benefit from their investment.
Dan and his wife Lanna reside in the Brainerd area. The two of them have six children and ten grandchildren. Dan loves the outdoors, which includes working in his vegetable garden and watching or feeding his feathered friends. His weekends are usually spent enjoying time with family and friends.
Native to Minnesota and Brainerd area resident for over 30 years, Jim is well-known as a financial advisor in the community and an active participant in the local business community.
Jim developed his trusted reputation for honesty and quality customer service first as a local business owner. He owned and operated J&L Office Equipment for over a decade, serving as the local Authorized Xerox Sales Agent for the Brainerd area.
In 2001, Jim transitioned into his financial advisor career and worked as an Edward Jones Investment Advisor for the next 11 years. Brian welcomed him into the Central Choice Financial team in 2012. He brings a wealth of experience to the team as an Accredited Asset Management Specialist and carrying securities licenses in Series 7, Series 63, and Series 66. Like Brian, Jim is also licensed in Life and Health Insurance.
Jim has been married to his wife Linda since 1983. They have three children, Heidi, Josh, and Matthew. He has been active in the local Chamber of Commerce for many years and is a member of BNI (Business Networking International). Fishing is his favorite leisure activity, and he loves to pass this passion on to the younger generation. He also enjoys traveling and reading.
